I miss the signatures
Iirc, you said, that you haven't enabled them yet, because some signatures were too big. Afaik there is a way, to limit the height of signatures to avoid such big ones. Are you going to look into that sometime soon, or is the proprity for signatures very low?
What do you think about the new look?

There are a few issues with signatures, including the fact that they bulk out the mobile layout even more and also many signatures' formatting was broken by the update. It's not so much that they're super low-priority — although they are lower than some things — but it's just quite a bit of work to get them working.
What I might have to do is blank all signatures and start again, with a limit on size and I'm not sure if images should be permitted. Although whatever I do, signatures can be turned off by users so I guess that it doesn't matter a huge deal.
I'd be interested to know what people generally think of browsing the forum without signatures, because I've never actually asked?

I'm perfectly fine without them,

signatures were mentioned previously. Every decent platform seems to allow the admin to disable pics in signs, so that can be an option to keep lean. Not missing em too much, but i like to click links to portfolios every now and then so I'd be pleased to see them.
-
What happened to "Most liked Content", "Top Posters", etc. I miss that.
-
Yeah, links to portfolios etc are really nice in signatures imho

As I seem to really be struggling with this website, this problem is again, probably me...
But I've encountered a few times now where I've tried to submit something and it has failed.
- Posts don't send, clicking the submit button doesn't affect anything.
- Adding images to a post via URL, clicking submit closes the input window and the post is empty.
Both of these problems have been solved with a hard refresh.

Just tried to read an article using Readability; it's not able to process the page (it comes up empty) so I am afraid that the HTML of the new forum is not accessible/not standard :-/
-
I don't think that Readability is particularly optimised for forum parsing, I just tried three leading types of forum software with it and it came up with nothing useful for all of them.
It looks like it was just about able to parse the previous version of this software, but in all honesty I think that was a fluke because the current version does make more correct use of accessibility attributes, tags, etc. Maybe Readibility just has a certain formula/pattern of markup that it 'likes'.

Sadly the old shortcuts aren't present, but you can get to some information in other ways. For example, searching members and sorting by reputation. I've also seen a way of searching by popular posts somewhere.

I've very occasionally had this, I assume it's some scripting going belly up. The forum does seem to use local storage to retain posts even when such screw-ups occur, so usually if you refresh your post survives (in fact I've come back the next day and it's still there). Hopefully the next maintenance patch will help.

I think I'm soon going to empty all signatures (they seem to be broken beyond repair) and then re-enable them with text only. This will allow simple signatures for linking to portfolios and providing contact information, without slowing everything down and/or taking up lots of space.

Would it be possible to bring this back (all the old options we use to have) or would that require hours of coding?

I don't remember what they were to be honest, but if the functionality isn't there then maybe some things can be re-introduced as plug-ins if they exist. It would definitely require a lot of coding to develop manually.

We had:
The Moderating Team
Today's Top Posters
Overall Top Posters
Most Liked ContentThis helped me a lot when I started out here but also later on. I could see who belonged to the staff in a simple click (I would change the name though). See who was really active that day but also delve into the Core's history by seeing who posted what and of course most like content was an excellent way to find great threads you might had missed. Or it was just fun to read back. Also, it's impossible to see once's reputation without going to the profile itself. Now I'm not about dick waving but I always used it as an indicator for how to deal what certain people were saying.
If this is a lot of coding then forget it. You've done enough. But if you can bring it back with plugins I would be much obliged.

Seems i'm having a problem similar to Jack (on Chrome at the moment). I can't seem to be able to fix the giant spaces that got created in editing the last post i've done in random animal appreciation. On mobile deletes the text in between videos, on computer comes up with a blank page and reloading doesn't help.
To be noted, posted the first video on mobile, then edited on PC to add the second. Got the red marking about the line feed but dunno why, when i pressed once return, it created that gap.

Any news on the signatures?
-
and to further be a pain, is there any reason why we can no longer add images by URL from steam?
I vaguely remember them working early on with the new look, but recently the "media inserter" just keeps cycling and nothing happens, so I have to upload via something like imgur first

-
Why some imgur links converting to images and some not?
Or is it me just getting stupider?[Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/aK9ObxB.png]

The signature changes are in motion, they'll be back.
@jackophant do you have an example of a Steam image I can test with?
@LizardPL it's generally hitting RETURN that triggers the image to be inserted, if you're not doing it via the 'Insert other media' button. From looking at your screenshot it's possible that they ended up as clickable links instead, which might be due to how the web browser copied them (Chrome likes doing this unless you select 'paste as plain text' when right clicking) or the editor just getting confused. If you remove the link and/or press RETURN at the end of the URL it might fix it. Also if you have the URL to that post I can take a look.

@Thrik this is the one I tried to use recently. Gave it another shot by pressing Enter and clicking insert just to double check. Loading icon still just keeps cycling.
-
I tried RETURN thing few times. It didn't work. I will try to fix this .
EDIT
I fixed it by deleting all broken links, deleting all returns and then pasting it again. Weird because I did the same thing yesterday.
