Nice idea with the core cola btw. I would actually try to "advertise" mapcore and reference other things around the map. The boat/cruise/casino way of things really is creative and I think you could find some great ways to incorporate little references here and there.

All the curves will be func_detail, since there is a lot of interior sections area portal windows will be really helpful as well. And why are you mapping? Cos is fun of course ![]()

Already planned to have a lot of easter egg type stuff like that, but it wont start to show properly until i start making the signs.
Made another vending machine, just need to make a normal arcade machine then I will have the needed assets to properly work on the arcade section.

A bit contrary to others before, I like easter eggs and referencing, but just a tad less conspicuous. The vending machine looks good tho, maybe you would need to use the warp tool on the 'Core logo cos atm seems a bit too sticked on to me.
In terms of questions, I was curious since you posted first, that the pool is gonna be interactive... will balls respond to [use] or what you mean?
Add pictures of the cruise destination somewhere with pictures of another map you have made. Like "Cruise destinations: {MAP NAME}{MAP PICTURE}" that would be pretty funny ![]()

Playable so far as in you shoot the balls and they go in the holes. when all the balls are in the holes they respawn. Not sure I am capable of implementing a better system.

That was one of my ideas, was also going to ask other mapcore mappers permission to use their maps as destinations.

Been slowly progressing, but putting Kerbals on the Mun has eaten up a lot of my time.

Been doing a lot of tedious work recently to make the level properly playable again. Stuff like the collision meshes on all the big models, preparing the map for a proper skybox and editing textures/specs/normals.
Also made this. Initially I was using a L4D mesh here, bit its texture was far too low res and I couldn't really re texture it without proper high poly bakes, so I made a new one using the L4D one as a guide

Did a few other smaller props you can see here. Sun lounger, parasol and the fence thing. Couldn't really think of a better solution to block the players path other than maintenance barricade, so it will do for now.

An aerial view of the one I am using as reference. These things are bigger than some cities in England and the one I am using is not the biggest.

With that central ginormous pool I think I did see pics of this in construction, or something similar… sometimes they make the news. We build a lot of them in Italy ![]()
Still hammering away at this. So much of the work I have been doing doesn't come across in screenshots so haven't posted anything. Got the map properly skyboxed, an early pass on optimization with func details and the obvious hints and started a proper clipping pass so it can go back into testing. Also spent ages on the 3d sky testing what I will do with it. Still looks a bit lame, but it will do for now.
I finally got round to adding the main central column thing, had been putting it off for ages as I knew it would go in the 3d sky. Turned out well as you cant notice its 3d sky when in the playable space

And started the 3d sky at the other side of the boat as well. Once done properly I don't think you will notice the transition and should look quite nice.

Need to now spend some time on the point lights, it can get a bit dark in places. Need to also figure out how to do the water. And what do you think of the new 2d sky? I found anything with clouds make it a bit more gloomy, so I have went with a plain blue sky.

Your album is particularly helpful to see how things have changed, how it can evolve to grow towards something visually different with a similar layout. I foresee a great map, as well as a potential interesting article about the process leading to it! ![]()

Only thing I would say is hostage upper looks too dark, but I'm sure you are planning to change that.
