uhhm, i guess this new layout is just for mobile users.. and thats why noone bitched already.

the only thing i really use is "view new posts", now its hidden in that topright pop-up menu :<

i generally don't like this "made for tablets"-look, even as i'm browsing with an iPad.

Not all functionality is available in the mobile view, however it's easy to switch to the regular design if you scroll to the bottom — you can even switch to the mobile view on a desktop down there if you really want to.

It should save it as a cookie so when you return it continues to use the regular design. It's certainly optimised more for phones rather than tablets, the code probably sees the tablet identifying itself as a mobile device and assumes it's a phone.

Would it be possible to put more contrast in the :

• MapCore
• → General
• → Off-Topic ?

The breadcrumb just beneath the header? Shouldn't be a problem, I'll look at it now.

Edit: It's now closer to black.

Browsing user posts seems to be limited with this new software. You can browse a couple of posts on the profile page and you can find more on the content tab (of the profile page) but easy access to every post the user ever made seems to be gone. Am I missing something?

It looks like the search index only goes back to November 2011 for that feature, which is probably something that can be affected by rebuilding the search database but will probably mean a short stint of downtime. I'll add it to the list.

OK, searching through a member's content has now been opened up so it'll search everything and display a maximum of 1000 results — it's not possible to show more than this without essentially killing the server, and I'm not 100% sure how tolerable this many will be, so we'll see.

Tips to bear in mind:

• It'll only show a maximum of 1000 results, but that doesn't mean you can't reverse the ordering to show their 1000 oldest posts
• You can use the regular advanced search in the header to search for a certain member in addition to other things (between certain dates, certain words mentioned, etc) if you're looking for something in particular

Ah, OK. If it's only affecting threads you haven't visited since the new software was implemented I don't think there'll be any round it, as the 'last unread' data probably didn't survive the conversion — at least not all of it. It sounds like the 'there is a new unread post in this thread' data made it, but the specific page to take you to didn't.

A possible way to stop this continuing to happen is to click the 'Mark Community Read' link right at the bottom of the page. This will basically mark every single post as having been read, thus any future icons you see will be based on new, working data.

Ok, I'm back on this problem and it becomes very annoying. I have made a strong clean of all the post on all the forum since the time you mentionned it to be sure that everything will be marked as "read". Unfortunately, some topic refuse to work correctly.

Especially these one :

http://www.mapcore.o...el-screenshots/

http://www.mapcore.o...m-model-thread/

When I'm in the home of a section and I click on the icon ( [Blocked Image: https://migrationtest.mapcore.org/public/style_i…_unread_dot.png] ) to read the lastest post of a thread, it send me to last post of when I used the "mark community as read". I'm forced to use the "Go to first unread post" which doesn't work on thread made before the new forum (it just sends me to the next page). On new thread it works well. I'm now 6/8 pages late on the WIP topic for example. Reading every page to be sure to update the "read" post don't update anything, I stay stuck in the past.

"Nom de zeus !"

It's impossible to track correctly the discusisons. I'm supprised to be the only one with this problem...

OK, so basically it keeps taking you back to the last unread post back when you marked everything as read? That is so strange. What happens if you do 'Mark this forum read' at the top of the forum, next to the 'New topic' button? Does it start using the latest page and get stuck on that too?

This is something I'll have to investigate further, but if you can do the above it'll help determine where the issue is happening.

You're not the only one. I am always using the "read latest post" but almost always get directed to the first post if its on old thread like the WIP pictures thread.

I just done that, now I will wait some posts to see if it happens again. I will give a feedback as soon I will have something.

Is it just me that can't locate the delete button? I'm pretty sure we had one IF no one posted after you in the thread.

Froyok, thanks for the further info about the unread thing — unfortunately I just accidentally deleted your post but I saw it and will be doing further work on fixing this soon.

Chimerey, it should be set up so there's a 'hide' button which doesn't completely delete it but does hide it from everyone else, allowing you to restore it later if you like. If this isn't appearing let me know and I'll reexamine the settings when I'm not on my phone.

Is there a simple way to open everything I haven't read in new tabs?

click View New Content and then when the list of new content appears you click with the scroll button on the stars/circles to the left of the threads.

But its a bit bugged and will sometimes take you to the first page.... :/

yeah, that works, but just for a convenience thing it would be awesome to open all those links in new tabs (everyone allows mapcore to open pop ups anyway)...

I don't think you're allowed (browser security) to open a new tab programatically. Closest solution would be (as you say) to open up popups.

But popups aren't tabs.
