I dunno if it's just me but I have a harder time pinpointing where enemies are from their footsteps since they've changes all the sounds. Maybe it's just because I don't play as much as I used to or I'm getting old

Anyone else getting this? Are there some audio setting which I can tweak to help with this?

All the weapons sound the same. CS is a game of sound as much as it is a game of aim.

yeah w/e there were no issues whatsoever with the old sounds, forget that they clipped in a thousand places, ship it ??
Really though, that old sound is broken as fuck. Sounds that clip that much really shouldn't be shipping with the game.

New sounds are shit, end of story. I can't help it if half of you have crayons for ears.

I have no problems with the new sounds. I do have with sprays in competitive, it's to distracting for me. Also I prefer the hl1 way where you could make your own sprays. But valve cares to much about making money...
One day they will make a system where you have to pay to play without Russians...

There's a more important reason why custom sprays are a bad idea, imo.

Furthermore, I can imagine the amount of NSFW sprays that would emerge would be a deal breaker as well.

There's music added close to CT spawn and is relaxing af. Just stood there for a few minutes and listened to it.

Yeah looks superb. My initial impression is that it is the perfect balance between visuals and game-play. Detailed but not cluttered.
I also like how spacious the map feels, especially the spawn areas. Very airy.

This isnt the final version of inferno though correct? There seems to be some areas that are unfinished.

It's scary how little people know about development, and that people can't see how much love has been given to this game in the last year. Compared to my first year in CS:GO it's been huge! And I have loved every gun sound almost, very good change especially technically, but also recognizable AK sounds ++.
People need to realize, especially after the broken animation update, that Valve doesn't want to make huge gameplay changes fast. It's impossible to know if one fix breaks something else. Anyone with a reasonable grasp of development knows this, but gamers always know better...

Now I am damn excited to try the new Inferno

From the video, I would say gun sound seem alright to good… but many sound quite alike…

I just gotta love new inferno. Especially A apps! I also like that construction is now wall-bangable and not so safe place to save.
Also great that some roofs has been removed (A bombsite and banana).
Of course there's still other stuff that's awesome but those were the top things for me.
However I'm not big fan of those haybales
They are almost as bad as mine
and I just started learning modeling
