well that's the thing, i also have a pile unused runes. it really feels like there is nothing else i need. i have tried to find more blueprints that would have some relevance to my playstyle, but so far it's only the stealth boots that really do anything. i do most my missions with ~0-2 knockouts, no kills and without being seen.
-
it's def pointless to buy any upgrades for weapons (unless you use the sleep dart). I just kinda... strolled through and knocked peeps out.
now I'm on my full killing spree though. EVERYONE must die.

yessss just completed the game without being spotted or killing anyone, low chaos, best ending. it was fucking delightful. I HIGHLY recommend you to play through at least twice doing very different playthroughs, the subtle (and larger) changes they make to the story and the levels is really brilliant. definitely not a game you can get the full experience from by playing it just once.
super rewarding as well.
10/10
best game since half-life.

Violent playthrough should be the first one or the other way around?

i think one thing they could have done better was to create a little bit more of a balance in the endings, there is only ultimately good or ultimately evil. but yeah, enjoyable.

i just played it normally the first time and ended up with high chaos, i didn't quick save or quick load, just dealt with things as they happened, which meant i got high chaos due to me stumbling around exploring the levels and getting spotted all the time. i also murdered a bunch of targets just because i could.
i enjoyed getting the bad ending first, and then the good ending second, simply because i felt like i properly saved the world this time.
although i don't think it really matters which way around you do it. it might be fun to go through utterly destroying everything, which i might do as a third playthrough. it's just that good

i knida feel like that fits the rest of the game, there isn't any clutter - if it's there then it's there for a reason. it may be quite a simple game, the AI isn't Hitman where everybody has a hundred routes to take and a thousand different ways of being disposed of, but what it does it does very well. that's how i look at the endings

-
i kinda changed my mind about a full murder run, i don't want to disappoint Princess Emily, she was so happy, i don't want to leave the world in chaos

-
Pussy! Go kill everyone, the deserve it for having American accents!

QuoteI think that both of the bad endings reveal more of the "true" color of the characters as they break under pressure and general state of mind. Refering to Emily and the emo looking dude pulling the strings. Also to the mentioning of the fact of Dunwall being rotten from the inside, which I guess would have been true at the point of time for any of the endings.

Finally completed it. Very awesome indeed!
QuoteThe ending was way too abrupt though... Just opened a door and poof... game over, happy ending. Was sort of anti-climatic. I was hoping there'd be a small epilogue at the palace to conclude the story and ease out of it more... Oh well
QuoteI didn't kill any guards nor the main targets up to the lord regent. I eliminated him the non lethal way by broadcasting his confession so the people know the truth. But then I ran up to him anyways and assassinated him cos he deserved to die. xD Then there's the story twist that made me sorta bitter so I ended up killing the assassin as well, and pretty much most guards as well at this point. Very nice that the story made me change my playstyle!

Finished it the other day btw. Great game, one of the best of the year for sure, but I also kind of lost interest in it towards the end and just wanted it to be over.
QuoteThe bit after the plot twist (which I figure everybody saw far away long before came), where you're trying to get back to the The Hounds Pit pub just completely ruined the pacing for me. And by the time I got to the last fortress I just wanted the game to end, even though it was a super cool level as well. The assassinations up to the Lord Regent more than make up for this though.
Still doesn't get even near XCOM for my GOTY tho

I felt the same way Mazy, but didn't finish it yet

I love this game so far. Setting, gameplay, mood, lore... it's awesome. I haven't come very far because I'm experimenting so much...
-
its on sale on steam now as well

Just finished playing this. Awesome game. Also, very obvious that Viktor Antonov was involved in the art style. Had a bit of a HL2 feel to it at times.
-
Just finished it... it's soooooo good.
Highly recommended!I have to say... I really loved the game's universe. The mystical, weird science and technologies. The ominous Outsider. The bleak and infested city. Whale oil. Gah, such a potent mix! It really pulled me in.
