Dishonored

I've been trying to do the first mission ghost and clean hands, i've done both separately but can't get them together - i think i am killing the two guards with the door explosion in the prison exit but it's so random - sometimes i kill 1, or 2, it makes no sense, i knock them out and hide them in the container but they seem to die - i am going to keep trying but it seems really fucking bugged and no google searches show people having this problem. at this stage i am running through this level knocking out only those 2 guards (otherwise they see you when you blow the door no matter what you do), got my time down to about 5 minutes which is fucking world record quality at this point but i always end up killing someone.

Man, i just did it, but now i have 2 unconscious bodies detected cause i had to move the guys i knock out in the prison away from the blast radius. i don't know where else to put them without having to knock out and hide another 2 guys to make room in the world for them - i'm not sure i need to worry about bodies being found but i'd rather not have any found at all. seems like shitty design if i have to do it this way

Found out that if you close the gate from inside the final prison room you won't get people coming in after the explosion - but I don't open it in the first place, not sure if I'll just end up opening it to close it, might waste time but at least nobody will find any bodies.

Boom. Recording video with FRAPS ripped my fps apart so I made a bunch of clumsy errors (chain jumping, missing the fucking walkway a billion times like a shitnugget etc) but with it running it's a lot easier. I found a few better ways of doing it too.

If you don't stealth right away after picking up the sword you enable a minor alert on the first guard and he skips the whole talking bullshit and you can walk right past the first guard instead of jumping over the top.

When you get to the final room where you need to blow the door, you can either hide the guards in a small open container furthest from the exit door, or just open the door and close it using the lever inside that room - this seems to prevent the guards entering, which is weird and annoying and takes like an extra 20 seconds in this room but you can make that time up by skipping the talking at the start of the mission so whatever.

When you get to the very end set of guards, instead of going over the pipes it's faster to sneak past the first guard and drop into the water and just swim away to freedom, faster and less chance of being seen.

Could get time down to about 7 minutes from start to finish with all cutscenes. Probably really slow compared to good speedrunners but I was happy and I found it all out myself and there's nothing you can do to take that away from me so suck my dick lmao.

Fffffuck this game looks so good. Gonna pick it up this weekend.

also why does every character remind me of psychonauts? they're all grey and their eyes look like they're holding in huge farts

Yes this is definatelly GOTY so far for me, but I haven't played x-com.

But I doubt I'll like that one this much as I'm not really into strategy stuff

Really love what I've played so far of Dishonored, but XCOM just has the craziest pull on me. Can't stop thinking about it at the moment.

Finally got through the first assassination in Dishonored tho, and on my way to the Golden Cat. I can see what everybody is on about in terms of replay value. In the first mission alone I could spot so many different ways of tackling situations. Also, really dig the feature where you'll sorta slide underneath objects when you're crouched, makes it feel so fluid and cool when you're trying to sneak up on somebody.

Did anyone know you could Double Jump? I found out about it on the very last mission... Made me super sad.

That's even worse than when I got to practically the end of Metal Gear Solid 3 before discovering the CQC for throwing enemies to the floor and knocking them out instantly. Sure made that game a lot harder.

If it makes you feel any better: You only get it after you've upgraded some sort of thinh, agility or something? So perhaps you did that pretty late to begin with!

Yes I only upgrade agility on the very last level. (since I was playing stealth, didn't think I would need it.)

also, I am not sure if you need to up agility to get it.

lol i'm playing stealth and basically all i have is agility and blink. no weapon upgrades, nothing.
