Why the fuck would there be a guy in the back, one driver/main gunner and one machine gunner is the way it should be.
Going to be more BF3 footage streamed here at 22:30 CET , which is about 40 minutes from this moment: http://www.ustream.tv/battlefield3

In a lot of battle tanks, there is a driver, commander, gunner and loader. I believe the loader is in the "back" of most designs. The co-ax machinegun is controlled by the gunner, and hatch mounted one is for the commander.Maybe BF3 should come out with some new APC designs, so that the grunts in the front will survive the longest ![]()
The commander sits in the back naturally since the gunner and loader is infront of him by the damn gun! Since the engine is in the "back" and everybody is in the middle of the tank, the commander is probably killed first from a back-attack. Ref:

Unless they are talking about an APC and not a tank.
So there's still only 4 classes like BC2? Yay! ![]()
Run and gun + tactics worked perfectly well in bf2. Why does it need gimping?

The other team working together has abilities to fuck your ass up for CODing.
I don't think it will make the player blind like a flash bang for example. Might just slightly prevent the enemy players from wanting to; well many possible things that give the edge for supporting your team. You really dont see how this will make the support class useful and extra fun to play?
Either way, when you get shot by any class, your vision gets blurry. And you can still run and gun all day as seen in the stream videos.
suppression fire shouldn't blur your vision, it should gib you instantly. one might even say instagib you.
seriously, suppression fire basically allows no one to move within range without cover.

There was suppression fire in bf2 as well though, mind. It was when a fuck tonne of bullets came flying your way and you dived behind a wall
And you were like "Hoooooooooooooo shiiiiii-"
Ok here is the official statement: no blur, just dim and shake.
QuoteThe Support class was super important in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 because it could heal, but they're given a new role in Battlefield 3:suppression. Shooting in an enemy's general direction is important in real combat, giving your own team a chance to move and gain position while the enemies are frightened into running for cover. Battlefield 3 takes this into account, and anyone firing a hail of lead near foes – something the Support class is especially good at, much more so with a fancy bi-pod attachment – will suppress the enemy. This not only garners points for the shooter, but dims and shakes the screen of those affected. Shooting to kill is an important role, but shooting to provide actual supporting fire is now emphasized as well.
I for one, welcome this, it already works perfectly in Project Reality
There's a suppression system in the next Red Orchestra too, so it could become a trend in more shooters.
So happy it's not BF2. Though I am not surprised, since it's called BF3.
