Only if the game was coop, then we could share joyous gay sex festivities.

Yeah. I agree that the game just asks for co-op, but I think Bethesda decided that they better focusing on making what they make best then risk being bashed for implementing a poor co-op experience. If they where to make it though, it wouldn't need any fancy co-op content, just the exact same game... similarly to what Fable 3 did (the co-op features, the rest of the game fails).

Steam asked me to install the latest ATI drivers so I did, then most environments and NPC's are missing textures and Skyrim randomly closes and corrupts my saves. So yeah, I had to revert. Why aren't Deadend Thrills posting screenshots like this?

    PC GAMING.

I would rather this game had less to do and what it did have to do wasn't such a mess. I don't think I've seen anything scripted in this game work once in a convincing fashion. I just went to the Orc village and was turned away to pick up an item from a dungeon, which is fine as I really enjoyed the dungeon until halfway when there was a trap that was 100% kill on my clumsy partner forcing me to leave her there and do the dungeon twice to pick her up. Ran back to the Orc village, they let me in, tell me to see the chief, the chief says I am one of them and welcome to visit the shops, and then immediately him and everyone around him attacks me for trespassing. This is not an isolated event - this is Skyrim in a nutshell. At least the mine around the corner gave me a full ebony set in about 2 minutes.

Although one thing pretty awesome that happened earlier was at the villa on the first thieves guild quest, I was sneaking around trying to find the well signposted entrance to the sewers (through which all thieves must use by law) when I got detected. And before I could call the game out on its bullshit I got set on fire by a dragon.

My next card is going to be ATI, as much I really don't want it to be. But Nvidia just does not offer ANY decent quality cards with a single or less pin PCI-E power requirements. All their 256-bit cards need two, and my 400w Corsair only has one. So if I want a good card without having to replace my entire PSU (which would be a nightmare of work, seriously), I have to get the Radeon HD6850, which is ~$140, 256-bit, roughly equal to a GT460 in power, but only needs one power connection.

Wait, so you think that missing textures, uv's behaving weirdly and overall a massive cluster fuck of graphical bugs in all your games (You get it to work on one game, but its broken in another, and then when you find some drivers for that game its breaks in all the others and this continues on until your card dies) constitutes a decent quality card?

    Dude wtf

point is; go for a less "decent specs" nvidia card. In the long run you'll be a happier person.

The best Geforce card for sale that's 256-bit or better, and is low power enough for my system, is a GTX250, which is a rebranded Geforce 9800GTX, which is somewhat better than my 4670 but not even half as good as a HD6850, which is roughly equal (or occasionally better) than a GTX460, which is not only more expensive, but would require a $70-ish power supply purchase and the complete disassembly and reassembly of my computer to replace the PSU.

Dealing with the Catalyst issues is slightly better than dealing with the performance issues of a low quality Geforce.

Aparently it isnt. Where have you been in the last year? There's been shitloads of complains regarding ATI cards and recent games. I have an old nvidia 9800gt and I've played DX:HR, Rage and now Skyrim and I have yet to experience a crash.

I could not run Bf3 on this card tho, it's way too old for that engine, but all the above games ran fine, shoppy FPS but fine and unproblematic. Nvidia for life, ATI is ruining the name of PC gaming more than it already is.

Nvidia aren't the obvious choice some of you make them out to be IMHO. I buy ATI because the price/performance ratio is usually better. And I can't forgive Nvidia for the FX-series just yet...

Never had an ATI card myself but had to deal with them more then enough due to family/friends. Always find them such a pain in the ass. Imo a classic example of saving money on the wrong end.

Regarding performance i must say a good card by itself doesnt give you good performance. The rest of your PC is just as important. I had to put my old 9800GT in my new PC and it run like a beast. Would easily still be good for 1-2 more years to play games and use 3d software properly. Doesn't have DX11 of course but thats not a priority for everybody.

My 6950 is fine. Just open steam and check for video driver updates, it fixed all my issues with textures not loading in skyrim.
