I started a Khajit thief like character and wow, I'm having fun with it. My main is a warrior so its a nice change of pace.
So I also tweaked the shit out of the ini and turned on AO using the Nvidia Inspector. Now the game looks great 80% of the time vs 30% of the time without tweaks. I recommend doing so.
i used an ini tweaker and set everything to obscenely high. game crashed on startup.
post your ini please ![]()
Quote from ChopperDaveAnybody played this on PS3 and PC? Any big differences? I was thinking of getting it on PC like I have all Elder Scrolls games, but I'm not sure I can run the game with good graphics with my machine (quad core i5, GTX 260) and was thinking of getting the PS3 version.
Dude, seriously? Skyrim is barely more taxing than Oblivion. I've got a budget core 2 duo and Radeon 4670 and have the game on the High preset, minus AA and plus all the water effects, and the game never drops below 30.
Made a redguard for the fury perk or whatever it was, but am mainly playing stealth. Didn't like the fact that they removed choosing skills and such.
Another night, another dragon. Always one trying to slap my shit where ever I go.

Quote from knjthis still looks a lot like Follout 3, of coure it is polished nad improved but when i see some YT videos, this is just fallout and F3 wasn't the best looking game at it time
I agree that terrain in places looks exactly like F3 (same engine same artists duh). Its many otyher things - textures, animations - the moment you see it you know its Bethesda game.
Or you can look at another gamebryo powered rpg - Divinity2 - same setting, very similar fantasy style, but looks quiet different from Bethesda games.
Of course it does, it's the same engine... Improved, yes, but it's the same.

Apart from the scrolling and placing your equipped items at the top most of that doesn't irk me. What irks me is how different menus require you to press different buttons like R,E,Enter or a click.
So I have had the WORST performance in this game with a beast of a machine. The auto detect always put me at max everytime and changing everything to low made fuck all difference. Turns out, the 360 controller option is enabled be default and fucked my performance. Seems a lot of people had the same issue as me. So simple yet so annoying! ![]()

Are you using the latest drivers for everything? Are you sure it's a beast of a machine and not what you think is a beast? (had to ask that because people have different onions on what is a beast etc)
Yes latest drivers I ain't that bad.
Phenom II 1090t 3.6ghz
16gb ddr3 corsair vengeance 1333mhz
Gigabyte 560
OCZ vertex 2 260gb ssd
Like I said, it was one dumb option that broke everything. Simple stuff that got overlooked. Although, how on earth a controller enable option breaks everything is beyond me.

Looks like we have the same gfx card. Did you have any trouble with it yet? One of my fans started to make a vibrating noise after a long 10 hour Skyrim session. Same yesterday after a long night session. Always happens when it goes to idle again after a long period of load. Not sure if this is something normal or if i should return it. Card is only 1 month old.

Fuckin' PC gamers.

I have 2 EVGA superclocked 560TI's and the fans are really noisy when the visuals are intense. (it's actually louder than the GTX480 I had)
What brand is it? Depending which one you can return it easily, but fan's making loud noises is normal.
Mine always gets noisy as hell. I just take the side of my case off and problem solved. I have been feeling some strange vibrations through my desk, I guess that's what it is.
I'm still on a 9800gt at home, I boot up skyrim, after 30 sec my computer sounds like it's going to take off.

That doesn't sound good actualy. I first bought a Palit 460 gtx with this new PC which was unbearably loud (like a jet taking off lol). Then i asked in the shop for a silent card and he suggested the Gigabyte 560 gtx. The clerk gave me his word about it. For the first month i had no trouble with it. It was indeed quite silent even when the fans run at 100%. Only now i get this noise and as i said it's not during the game but afterwards when the card cools down. I can also feel how it vibrates when i touch it.
Sorry for getting off topic.
