I always go by weight to worth ratio.

That said my storage crates are already overflowing with loot that's actualy worth something.

This is gonna be like Morrowind where i had a house full with hundreds of precious weapons, armor sets and jewelry in the end.

    Silver swords baby!

I often enough leave silver stuff behind. I can barely manage to transport the more precious stuff out of a big dungeon even tho i have the perk that allows me to carry 100 more and i only use light armor on myself. As soon as i have the achievement for 100k gold i will not bother anymore with regular items unless they are useful for me.

This made it GOTY for me. Just this. Nothing else. Just being able to press the console and type that FOV x. GOTY. Seriously.

One thing that I found out was really heavy are dragon bones, standing at 15pounds a piece. Since they sit on the Misc. table and you get a bunch of them for each dragon slain, it can be quite a burden to carry.

I agree the game could've looked a bit prettier.

But the thing that annoys me is the bullshit bethesda was going on about with the new animation system, and the combat.

The animations are improved, but they are still awful and stiff. Weapon sheaths for example are erect like a cock on most characters and don't bounce.

The combat is fairly awful. You don't get any hit feedback (apart from the clang of metal from the audio) if you parry or black, yeah you get something. But when I hit some arsehole in the face with a 2handed hammer, you don't continue to hit me, you fall on your arse or stumble back.

But other than that, I am enjoying the exploring and sneaking around and stealing shit

By far my favorite spot in the game.

Wow, I never thought about it like that. And here I thought the only ties to FO3 was that it's open-ended and made by the same developer. I'll just go ahead and throw away my own experience with the game and agree with your assessment that it's a Fallout clone. Thank you so much for saving me the time of replaying FO3!

The delayed correction of HDR when you look around is annoying. It's like I'm watching the game through a cheap camcorder. Those slow corrections might be dramatic sometimes, like coming out of a dungeon, but it does it if you, say, stand in town, look under a porch, and then look out across town, and then back under the porch, and then back across town...

Its actually Oblivion (Gamebryo), and Fallout3 (Gamebryo) is Oblivion with guns + new mechanics. Skyrim is Oblivion 2.0 (Creation Engine) with Fallout3 mechanics.

Also unlike Fallout 3, I think Skyrim is actually fun. I didnt like F3 much at all.

If you talk to the woman in brown robes sitting in front of the big ass dead tree in Whiterun, she sends you off on a quest to get a dagger from some witches to the south. Holy shit, that was the hardest fight I've had so far in this game. There were four or five human witches, and they kept casting shields to protect themselves, but far more dangerous was this daedric witch-thing, that shot fireballs that hit like fucking mortar shells. My poor Housecarl just spent the whole fight laying there unconscious, and I would've died if I hadn't by change gotten a one handed rank up mid-fight, pushing me over the limit to reach level 9, and thus get a free heal.

Also the blacksmith in Whiterun (the cheap one by the gate) somehow found out about me robbing her house in the middle of the night (it was like the first thing I did upon arriving in town ), and sent mercenaries after me while I was dungeon crawling. When I tried to confront her about it, there wasn't any dialog options to talk about "Hey you tried to kill me, also how did you know it was me that took your shit". She didn't act differently at all, even taught me some smithery shit.

Anybody played this on PS3 and PC? Any big differences? I was thinking of getting it on PC like I have all Elder Scrolls games, but I'm not sure I can run the game with good graphics with my machine (quad core i5, GTX 260) and was thinking of getting the PS3 version.

I’ve got a bit further. I’m only level 11 or so in upgraded steel armour with two skyward weapons so nothing amazing. Spent most of this evening obtaining and upgrading a house just to stow away my dragon giblets (I assume I’ll need them for dragon armour or something). Lyria defaults to steel so all she gains from me is a hat and some weapons. Though she has a Fire Staff and for some reason likes to occasionally stop and fire it at nothing until I move to another area. She spent the whole of the last dungeon burning a cart at the entrance. Must remember to take that back.

Just finished enough Companion quests to join the Circle proper

. The NPC that joins you on the quest afterwards managed to set herself on fire somehow, blamed me, and started attacking me.

Is everyone else finding it hard just to click conversation options? It’s getting pretty ridiculous. It's in the middle, it's highlighted, I click square in the centre, and I get a completely different one.
