":119667e6]Their spawning system sounds weird. So you mean the spawn points move around, and the game doesnt mind wheter or not there's a alive player near the spawn? That's ridiculous to me.I play a lot of Quake, and the spawn point is simple and good, the game always chooses the farther spawn point from the point you've been killed. And you rarely spawn next to players.

Yeah, this is pretty standard cod spawning, a constant shifting frontline. TDM especially gets to the point where consciously shifting the enemies spawn around the level by flanking is part of the game, not just simply 'bad' spawning. Even though it does result in some bullshit kills and pisses people off.

The game is a modern Quake anyway, though, so it sort of fits. I think it's just seen as bullshit because a game with M16's shouldn't have people appearing out of thin air behind me. Which is probably fair, but ultimately missing the point.

Just finished the first mission, I'm liking it so far, linear as always, but the story is intriguing. They really abused of the cubemaps on the weapons, way too prominent imo =P.

Cubemaps are the new normal maps. Just you wait and see.

Oh, no doubt about that, they're great, but we shouldn't overblow them like they're doing on the weapons in this game though =P (very apparent on the shotgun and m16).

Well I can understand watching a bit of it to get a general idea of the quality and gameplay, but to watch even a large portion of the game seems bizarre to me — it's going to completely negate the impact of twists, surprising moments, etc. Even the gameplay will be less exciting because you already know what's going to happen and where. I personally put huge value on that first time I ever play a game because I can never recreate that feeling of it all being new and fresh, even if I replay it. Each to their own I guess.

I only watched less than half of the campaign, found out some other stuff due to annoying people using unmarked spoilers on other forums () I don't want to watch anymore, but I'm not sure if I want to pay £35 for the single-player, although I hear a lot of good things about it, even being better than MW1 (which is massively massively superior to 2).

    Gamespot review... 9.0

Gamespot are usually quite critical but if they like this it must be good... right?!!

Watched my colleague play it here at work. Level design has its ups and downs...strange arbitrary use of slow motion, abuse of player blocking volumes, instantly killing the player when they veer off the path, terribly confusing objectives in the Battle of Khe Sanh. IGN ripped them a new one about that mission:

    http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/113/1133005p1.html

Overall, not bad though...a lot of variety and an interesting story. Black Ops is worth it, as usual, for the whole package not just the SP campaign.

Damn, not seen the game itself yet but they have a huge marketing campaign The four kilometers tram ride to our office is plastered with Advertisment for the game and our tram station itself has a huge ad in it as well... Activision really spends alot of money on this.

":2hb1b9lm]It's gonna be dificult for us living in germany to find the uncesored version tho! :Xhttp://gamerant.com/call-of-duty-black- ... pen-49626/

I really don't want to fire up utorrent for this, I havent downloaded a game for years now! I am willing to pay for this game, but not for a chopped version! I mean:

    • A scene where an enemy is shot in slow motion with copious amounts of gore has been toned down for the German release.• A torture scene involving a prisoner has been completely eliminated from the German version.

    • The song “Sympathy for the Devil”, made famous by the Rolling Stones, has been removed.

    • No explosions that lead to limb loss.

    • Removal of what Germany deems ‘anti-constitutional symbols’.

Lol, whats the sympathy for the devil thing about? Does Germany think the stones were really singing about Hitler or something?

I picked the game up myself, and holy crap the second level, a prison break, is fucking awesome. Totally goddamn sweet, and it has pretty much all the big gameplay set-pieces that stood out from MW2 in it. Blowing stuff up, killing tons of dudes, shooting people while riding a vehicle, etc.

I played up to after the first level of Vietnam level last night, and found them hilarious. The way everything goes to hell right as Mason arrives on the scene, and the ridiculous weapons I was finding like the "China lake" grenade launcher, the "Big ammo" machine gun (what does that even mean??) and the AK with the flamethrower attachment. I was on codeine (baby's first morphine) at the time however as I had my wisdom teeth out yesterday morning though so take my opinion on CODBLOPS with a grain of drugged up salt.

Wait till you get to Kawloon, on Hard, its fucking hard, which is a good thing. The level design allows for npcs to run up and down your ass.
