Working on a small Porco Rosso flight sim game designed for VR... it's about looking around, so it had to be an open cockpit game, so... Porco Rosso. It's called "Nostrum." Currently a finalist in the Oculus VR jam, cross your knuckles for me!

This looks like a blast in the Occulus

Yeah I'm using TrenchBroom. Everything in the screenshots was done with it.

Funny that you think it's too dark, it's actually bright as fuck on my monitor.

Haha! I guess that's an unsolvable problem then, users will always have different software - unless Apple consumes the world completly, god forbid. xD

A flight simulator for Occulus, that's just great!

My first attempt at modeling/texturing an environment from scratch, ignore the wonky shadows for now.

    Boner factory?

Awesome Porco Rosso stuff! That looks like it would be a blast to play on the rift. Man I cant wait until the next gen rift comes out. At that point I'm most likely buying.

Its supposed to be a facility where waste is processed and dumped into the sea, which at some point in the past dried up and is now a big sandy pit

Just moved to cod4 and started on a parking garage. Only about 5 hours worth of work here but I'm pretty happy with the results from the time I spent on it. Obviously i will do a detail pass and fine tune lighting a bit later. Please give me criticism.

Whaat, people still play CoD4? ^^

And also, nice to see someone making maps for it, had no idea CoD4 was still active.

The areas look great but the orange light in the first screenshot seems way too strong.

More Left 4 Dead is always a good thing. I like it. In the last screenshot, near the sandbags, the shadows on the wall look a bit weird.

Looking at the first ss i think the problem is the intensity of the white light, if you made the room just a bit darker and with more shadows the orange light would would probably look better. You could also try to change the overall light from white to a very light colour (if it already has some colour then make it a bit more saturated). For example in the second SS, the right part of the image looks very nice, but the left part not so much, in my opinion, due to the colour of the light.

But really great job, waiting for more

Thanks all for the feed back. Lighting has always been a black art to me but I think Im finally going in the right direction, plus Im enjoying playing about with it.Will take onboard the suggestions and see what I can do.
