env_lightglow does the same job, only with one entity instead of two (sprites and lights)
right?

Does it ? AFAIK it only creates the glow effect, and it's hella hard to set it right. (I myself never managed to get it right)

It just makes a glow that varies in its size and opacity depending on distance.
I find lightglows to be tricky to use, but you can get some nice effects with them.
Thanks for the great tutorial hessi. That's going in for sure.
I'll get some beam sprites in too. There's still a lot to get in to this room.
Pots with flowers, something grander in the middle with more bushes as well, tables, chairs, some cool lamps.
env_lightglow created quite a lot of trouble last time I messed with it. So far I am sticking to a light entity and a glow sprite until they make the lightglow one work properly.
In particular it flashed in an annoying way regardless of what values I chosed.

mycket bra gjort! imponerande faktiskt.
GOOD MORNING MORNINGSTAR
ah now that is looking reeaally nice. You could shrink the shadows down a teensy bit though. ![]()
env_lightglow was made to create the "light at the end of the tunnel" effect, wich was used to make transitions between levels in HL2, so i don't think it is entended to be used as a light halo.
I don't think a lot of entities are 'meant' to be used for what others use 'em for
Doesn't mean you can't do it or make some nice effects with 'em.
