Dunno if I agree with the first place! But I definitely agree with the rest of the list. (or maybe UE3 should be a little bit up on the list)

Btw, I saw the page again and I don't think It's like the top 10, counting from 10 to 1. It's just a list of the 10 best, period.

Teh article says GRAW uses Unreal 3 (360 version uses YETI, and the PC version uses Diesel)

naughty dog engine > all !

yeah i don't think its supposed to be in any particular order either !

also isn't geomod only the whole "structural breaking down"-bit of the middle ware ?! and the 3d engine could be anything ?!

also what had me giggling was the IW engine aka quake 3 ^^

Yes, purely judging by how the game looks leaving away most of the engine-related stuff pretty much.

Here's a list of "Top 5" engines. Not so bad but still it's a "players list". Players don't know about a lot of details (cost, sdk support, performence, multiplatform) to get proper score.

The "This Generation" part of the article title is pretty much BS, considering they list Deus Ex under the Unreal Engine's games.

Also Rockstar's RAGE looks like crap! All its good features are middleware from other companies!

Wait whats wrong with the Q3+++ engine, it runs great on all platforms, looks great. Though I don't like radiant, nor the fact that it apparently still doesn't have mouse look.

Sure it's still q3 at the core, but why change what still works best, I'm sure other devs reuse good code, and IW added enough of their own.

Can anyone explain that to me btw, why did/do so many engines lack a proper(hammer like) mouselook, even the popular UE3, or is that me just being so used to hammer.
