How do you make the sun glare effect?

How do you make the rope "hang"? All I get is tight rope without any hang effect

Seriously guys, can you cut down on the pointless posts in the non EOT topics? It's really annoying.

I'm looking at curman and DD.

Is there any way I can measure r_speeds (they removed it) or performance except for the cl_showfps command How do you measure performance etc?

I don't think valve has released any smd exporters yet. The sun glare thing is an env_sun or something named along those lines. I believe you have to use an info_target or some such entity along with it to tell it where to point. As for ropes, there is a nuber you can specify for the units of slack for the rope to have, which has to be specified in the keyframe the rope starts form. Make sure it's type is not set to rigid.

When I make a new configuration with WAD3 / Half-Life and try to load an old map (rmf) it just ignores my list of textures... >_>

    Any solution to this?

How do you open an rmf in the new hammer? What settings do I need to take into consideration? Currently, Hammer crashes when I try to open an rmf.

Where is the surface editor for making terrain? How exactly is terrain created?

Regarding r_speeds, +showbudget is your friend

    bind x +showbudget

    if that doesnt work, try

    bind x showbudget

I think the displacement tool is on the texture application tool (shift+a).

There's a tab on the top now, where you can switch into displacement mode and go nuts
