Trying to make brand new textures for my Resident Evil: Tension map for Sven Coop. But I'm not that good at it. Suggestions? I wish to make them from scratch.

Make it all dirty/make it look old
- Peeling off areas
- Damp rising up it
- water marks running from the top
Hope they help

if thats a wallpaper those decorations would not be a relief, with that kind of shadowing. Instead they'd be flat colors. It looks like an odd relief, so thats why I assume its a wall paper. if it is indeed, remove the shadowing, make it dark, and chip off small pieces and fade areas accordingly. When you look at a wallapper and squint and put your eyes out of focus, it should look like a solid color. At least in my opinion. I wish klien was here cause he could really give you feedback.

What it is? A wallpaper or Carpet with Wooddeko?
U need some diffuse shadows here and there, brokeup the highlight and make it thiner. The Deco on the Wall looking to much 3D, if its deco on a wallpaper u dont see a dark outline (diffuse shadow) or highlights on the deko.
Hope its okay. Have done a quick overpaint.

thats a hot texture MDS. My only suggestion is remove that big chunk of missing wallpaper and make it a decal due to repetition on a long wall. Other than that i LOVE the colors
nice!!! -

This kind of shadow below the wood arches makes me unhappy! What it is, diffuse shadows or smut?

i think your wood is too "linear"
look at this:
[Blocked Image: http://thomashess.net/wood.jpg]
the left is yours the right is as i should be. this linearity is too unnatural. organic stuff is always unregular. repetitions are rare. try to get off this single polygonselection stuff. when i see it, its like "zup zup copy past zup zup layer effect DONE"
more love please

-
RIGHT my boy!

-
Vivi, looks great except a few problems. The wood seems to stand too much out from the rest of the wall, probably wrong choice of shadow. Furthermore it shines through that the window is a photo and the rest is painted.

Not bad KIIIA.
I think the edges around those two "holes" in the wall could use some other approach. Also I'd like to get more contrast out of the bottom area and a bit more colour (even tho it's supposed to be white perhaps).
Made a quicky on what I suggested:
