my first texture, its not tiled since I didn't want anyone to steal it (I don't know how yet XD)
painted it since photo-refing is just too fucking easy

Quote from Sindwiller[Blocked Image: http://xs217.xs.to/xs217/07311/sf_dustywall.jpg]The bricks came out very wierd... any tips?
1. the saturation of the bricks is much to high compared to the wall
2. the color temperature of the bricks isn't matching the wall. either make it darker and more blue or you colorbalance the wall to red and yellow and increase the saturation. http://www.thomashess.net/photoset.jpg on the right you can see such a wall you tried to make. as you can see the brick is nearly having the same color as the wall itself!
3. the dirt you added on the ground has to be darker than the wall. http://www.thomashess.net/photoset.jpg in the middle you can find an example.
4. the dirt should not cover the brick structure! dirt is a thin film located on a strcutured surface. so the structure doesnt get lost. try some blending modes to find good settings
Thanks guys (especially hessi)! ![]()
FMPONE Looks good for self painted
Though I don't know what it is.^^
think you've got enough of the fingerprint effect going there?
Just tone down that effect on the darker bottom bit and it would look fine. Tis a very nice texture.
alright, yeah i just saw that style of concrete in a picture of kosovo, so i thought i would try it. I will tone it down tho ![]()
Some new textures for Deus Ex : New Vision (all of these are scaled down 50% except the roof tiles)

And a (brightened) ingame shot showing some of these:

The red 'carpet' like material to brick transition is a bit confusing. Not sure what you're try to do there?
The diffuse for the floor texture looks great.
due to boredom i was making some beach textures. somehow the sand seems too red (the one that blends to the grass material.
probably i am going to make dod beach map. i like dod_strand for the gameplay but visuals are kind of only 75%
in any way i could finally use some of my photos. atm they are getting old while being untouched ![]()

Wow, that's a good technique, painting it all as one, then splitting it. Never thought of that before, but I guess that's why they pay you the Big Bucks .
Make sure you add sprites to the grass-on-sand parts.

Or make a Blend texture ! ![]()
i quickly made some displacements + detailsprites to check out how it will look ingame. i removed some strongly repetitive stuff from one of the sand textures. anybody knows how to create detailsprites that fade in instead of just popping up?

you just made me cry
super awesome ![]()
mhhhhhhhh
not bad, not bad ..
wouldnt fit the normandy setting, but one of those beach fences made of wood strips and wire would look cool running along the grass edge ![]()
Good lord. That's really good looking. ![]()

The grass looks unrealistic in the 1st Screen... Can you reduce the texture size ?
