I started at February with this project working around 4h a day. Some days more some days less. But 4h is a good average.

I love this almost justbecause of its atypical setting. If not for it's orgasmic beauty.

congratulations on making a fine product of a map!

looks great and all and very NONE crysis ish wich is a good thing for a custom map if you ask me ! but seriously that aliasing form the specularity on those wires and the scaffolding HAS TO GO it destroys all your screenshots!

I played this map a few days ago.

And I will be honest, it looks incredible, you really nailed the atmosphere on the head.

I can play all the IA maps in Crysis at maxed settings with 20-30 fps no problem, but recently I put it down to everything on high just so I could get that extra few frames in MP (so its at like 30-40)

But in your map, with all settings on high, I get an average FPS of around 10 and below, and to be totally honest, that is completely unacceptable, ESPECIALLY with the visual standards you set.

Optimize this bitch and you will have a godlike map, but as for now, its unplayable.

    Warby:

Yes i should have not used the stock cable texture which comes with Crysis.

    JeanPaul:

This is strange. I'm playing with an Ultra-High Config on DX9 and get arond 30fps on my rig. It runs on a 1280x1024 resolution with a 8800 GTS 512.

I collected feedback and the people had no problems with the performance. Most report were 20-40fps.

The overdraw and all other values are within the stockmaps limits. I'm always focusing on performance while developing my maps.

I'm sorry you have such problems.

I will give it another go, maybe it was a computer problem, but remember it isnt always about draw distance

Map runs fine on my PC. Don't know about MP online experience, as I never played Crysis online!

No Jeanpaul i mean Overdraw. Its another thing. As you know Crysis got a lot of displays for optimising and possibities. But maybe I missed something important. Thats always possible. It was my first map on this engine.

I concntrated on viewdistance and sprite distance for vegetation, texture load, draw calls and other minor stuff like setting up occluders.

It would have been possible to include the occluders into the modesl but i used the old crytools because of the tight contest deadline. using the new tools was tricky because you need to assign material-ids. the new exporter was not avaiable as i modelled my custom objects.

narby this wouldnt make sense. you can take a look at yourself.

its just because im using the HP custom config at the moment and it delivers higher values when using the vanilla config.
