congratulations to the winners. i made a map too, called westwall But the winners are the best of the best maps. Congrats. I will keep on mapping for this game even if i not won something. Doesn't matter what happens, this contest was a great experience for me and i will continue to map for this game. My next map is also on its way.
I hope we all can stay in contact. The community and the mappers did their best to test and improve all maps. I dont think my map will win anything or get into top but it was worth to make it

i had nearly the same timeline.
Westwall was an idea i had long before but it was hard to reach the first deadline.
As i "finished" it (really early state of alpha) i was completely frustrated what the guys said about it in the first playtest and then i got more and more frustrated by the announcement of the deadlineextension.
But after a week i had some new ideas got into more detailing and delete all the overdetailed things in the map.
Hope we will see each other once again or stay in contact.
I love your way of leveldesigning. I am no professional leveldesigner so i get always into too much detailing in an too early state.

some things all of you want to know
*bombing mechanics needs a skybox with 6000 units height
(an example is in my maps husky and nomad )
*the last objective problem is caused by some weird code in offensive mode
you can solve this by adding a random or a placeholder objective
(destructable radio would be an option cause it needs no recompile)
[also made in husky and nomad.txt files]
*last thing is the new destroy the flak 88 mode

love the bombing mechanic working on another map called husky with its center bridge...
trying to make it collapsable by aircraft bombing.
How much damage causes a bombardement ?
also i would ask how i can use the new destructable flak 88

i am so curious about the new things.
Another thing i saw is that on all my maps the last objective is missing.
Westwall has 5 objectives but only 4 work.
Another map called Husky has 4 objectives but only 3 are working.
Is there any restriction in the game yet?
I hadn`t this problem before.

one thing i wanna ask at the deadline date.
I hope it isnt inappropriate, but when will the judging process be finished
and when and how will we get inforrmations who has won something
and which maps can get in the game (even if they did not win the contest).

First thank you all for your hard work and testing my map.
@Pvt. Nedder: atm it is intended that the barbwire does no damage. Its because the bots in coop always die on it
ShaDoW: a more snowy touch would be cool but i had no more time to get something done which is looking good thank this guy for all the bugfixes
@DoG: thank this guy and his clanmates for coop mode, without him and his clan it wouldnt be so good
also he had some nice ideas which helped me too @alextheamishelectrician: your ideas helped me a lot too thank him that i got in the snowy mood to make this map 
@Yoon: thx for your positive mood and always motivating me to keep on
ThirdEye: yeh perhaps you also need a credit. You pushed me everytime you wrote something in the streams or official playtests. Your comments were sometimes good but the most time they hurt me. I am no professional but i try my best. And so i will try to keep on trying to get a positive feedback from you:P SO thank you too to motivate me in this way.
And @ the ones i forgot... i love you all so dont be mad. You are the best game community i ever had. I will try to keep on my work and yes i will even try to make my maps in a more professional way.

A big thank you to everyone helping to improve our maps.
The playtests and also the not official work from our community were really helpful.
Also thank you to all my mapmaker mates and collegues.
We are creating a big game here and i hope it will continue this way in future.

yeh that s a commonly lighting problem sometimes if your editor is not loaded correctly.
I built some maps with normal hammer from sdk 2007 first and saw this texture problems too.
Now i am using the hammer.bat from DOI. All works fine but some skytextures of the game seem to be bugged since the last update.

i tried your mapupdate all in all some areas are better now. but i think the mapcenter , the bridge was better before it was more realistic the truck is a nice idea but its a 60s-70s truck and in real war it would never get as much into the city the subbridge area is now fantastic also the docks on the docks is a weird graphicsbug in one of the hangars the churcharea is near to perfect but i would add a chokepoint where you can get from graveyard to the bridge a bit curved so germans cannot shoot in hope this feedback helps you
