    @Xanthi

love the bombing mechanic working on another map called husky with its center bridge...

trying to make it collapsable by aircraft bombing.

How much damage causes a bombardement ?

also i would ask how i can use the new destructable flak 88 :)

i am so curious about the new things.

Another thing i saw is that on all my maps the last objective is missing.

Westwall has 5 objectives but only 4 work.

Another map called Husky has 4 objectives but only 3 are working.

Is there any restriction in the game yet?

    I hadn`t this problem before.

Thx for your reply in advance

@Xanthi Currently the last objective in Offensive game mode seems to be disabled for all custom maps?

some things all of you want to know

*bombing mechanics needs a skybox with 6000 units height

(an example is in my maps husky and nomad )

*the last objective problem is caused by some weird code in offensive mode

you can solve this by adding a random or a placeholder objective

(destructable radio would be an option cause it needs no recompile)

[also made in husky and nomad.txt files]

*last thing is the new destroy the flak 88 mode

    (coming soon :) )

Just to be sure -- we are allowed to make updates to the Steam workshop version of our maps, right ? I have some nagging little problems that I would like to fix but don't want to if its not allowed.

    Thanks

Quote We will be announcing the top 5 very soon (hopefully today or tomorrow) and there will be a Twitch Stream later in the week showcasing these with the community. We are hoping to then have the actual winners announced by Monday if all goes to plan!

    Good :)

It's a great sign if they take few weeks to pick their Top 5, it means they really take a deep look into maps. It's even possible that they're writting something for all the maps, showing what could have been done better, what's next to improve ...

It reminds me of that CEVO-Gamebanana contest almost 4 years ago, they took 2 days to pick a Top 10 from something like 86 entries (for competitive leves, not aim maps or something small). This contest was such a mess that @FMPONE left during the final votes and refused the price he received with Gwalior. And he got only second place ! This map was better apparently ...

So i believe they'll do better for this contest, there are really great maps in competition !

    Good luck guys!!

PS : It was mostly CEVO's fault, not gamebanana

Weren't the top 10 voted by the community or something? I don't quite recall, but I think there was a community vote too. It was such a mess :(

Yes. The selection of the 10 maps was made by Cevo (and gamebanana) and the community voted. Allowing the community to vote is a mistake from my opinion...

There was a cheater that created fake accounts to vote for himself or something like that, fortunately this got fixed but quite lately and it must have altered the results (because people were able to see the current results before voting, which is another big mistake).

Rest assured, we took an in-depth look. Not just us, but all parties involved. Each made their own top list and that eventually got merged. Not only were the maps thoroughly tested but they were also extensively played. Personally, I think that's the only viable and honest way to do all the hard work you guys put in justice.

Absolutely! I appreciate the effort and time put into the judging. I don't mind waiting a little longer to ensure the right maps are placed on top! Keep it up

Doesn't matter what happens, this contest was a great experience for me and i will continue to map for this game. My next map is also on its way.

I hope we all can stay in contact. The community and the mappers did their best to test and improve all maps. I dont think my map will win anything or get into top but it was worth to make it :)

    Good Luck to all

Heads up, I'm doing an accurate recreation of a section from Tobruk.

I was thinking about the Second Battle of El Alamein. If I'm going to spend more of my life with this I need to hear aome different voices during debug. How many times did we all hear "Boys how ya doin..." I hear it in dreams now.:)
