Well, it is a pretty big favour to ask a bunch of strangers. I'm not surprised he got turned down and I don't think there's anything wrong with the manner in which we did it -- on the contrary, we offered alternative and constructive solutions/explanations.
I'm sorry if I confused you, I just meant that if you don't think he's going to get a layout for training, just tell him, "I'm sorry but normally we would not supply a layout unless the map came out very good." And not "No, you are an amateur and we will not give you a a layout because we know for sure you are not going to make a good map"

naaaaa, de_season is a modern (japanese ?) Architecture =) We're aiming for something really vintage and you'll be able to feel the difference with material choice, shape, etc.
Well actually, the architecture includes lots of simple brushes, yet all the simple curves and triangles makes the map look really good, and it reminds me of season.
And simple is a good thing in this case

It takes a long time to get to b from terrorist side though.amiright?

It's looking really nice. The theme works as well.

Guys be nice to the OP(Original Post(er)
The first map I ever made was crap. It was a 3 lane very smushed map that didn't play well. But I had fun! What I suggest doing is just starting on your own. Do whatever your heart desires and make it, that way you will begin to learn how to make good CS GO maps.
If you do need a layout though, look at Dust 2. It has a middle, 2 bombsites, 3 main bombsite entrances, and connectors into middle. Study this layout, for it just "works."
-
But what do you guys think is a good balanced rotation time, not by Vavles standards, but by a players perspective.
-
Hey guys, this is my first mapcore posted map, and my third legitimate defuse map.
It's called de_unity, but I am thinking about making it based in the "mapcore offices(fictional)" where the terrorists are trying to destroy the CSGO mapmaking community by taking out mapcore
.Any suggestions on layout changes and thoughts before I continue?
Note: I don't have photo references.
Another Note: I am an amateur at map making.
Another Note: This post will be very messy
(New Overview with nodraw now!!!)
And some other screenshots:
Bombsite A:
Middle:
B bombsite(not populated yet):
Ct spawn:

Rotates are great believe it or not, through upper mid, it takes about 11-12 seconds, and lower mid: 14-15 seconds.
And the 'Attached thumbnail' is T spawn

What rotation times should a good CS:GO map have?
Most official maps keep the fast rotates around 15 seconds or less. But what exactly should a nice balanced map have rotation wise?
-
Wow! I love the architecture, in fact, it looks a little bit like de_season!
Keep it up, really cool map!
-
Does the owner of the map have to be there during the playtesting, or can the map just be played and feedback sent to the creator.
-
It's no longer a little blog now.
Looks nice! Keep up the good work

Just a quick idea. Maybe move B site down and shift T spawn to the left?
That makes T's reach site as fast as CT's
-
Will you update the grey box with santorini' new version too?
-
Need help with a radar? Check out 3kliksphilip on YouTube...
Anyways, if you decided to rush the map and all, why did you post it here in the first place, mapcore is supposed to help you nurture and grow your map too the very best it can be.

If you are going to make b that close to CT spawn, give T's..
1: Upper ground
2: Lots of entrances
3:Easy way to fake
That should make up for how close B is. But I honestly liked the old version
And the map kind of looks really simple too with this change.
