Did not find a thread where you could ask random questions about SDK (csgo) that did not have anything to do with a specific map.

My question: I did a house in one VMF, then when I try to copy it to my map it doesn't snap to the grid. Any tips on how to fix this?

I definitely will do that. I just wanted to get a layout tested before I made new textures. Most of the ones in there I borrowed from L4D.

Good to hear, you're the guy that made all the night maps btw? If so, I expect great things from you, feel the pressure. :)

The cements gotta go, looks really depressing TBH, make it light! The carpet where the chairs are looks like something from the 90's, not very modern.

So, I'm now nearing the end of the year and have been focusing on a few things like I stated last time, I now live in a lovely house with my wife & daughter, I still have the day job as a bin man but again it pays the bills.

Most importantly though is having a nice space to work in, I'm not huddled in a corner anymore, I'm in an attic which I converted into my office/game room so I can just go nuts up here, this year has taught me a lot about prioritizing and what I need to do to achieve greater things, so I've enrolled in a few UDemy courses to expand my skillset a bit, most importantly is the ability to create 3D models, something I've always needed when creating my own work and will help me create content down the road.

Being diagnosed with Crohns disease wasn't helpful near the start of the year but I'm now at a point where I just live with it and I'm happier for it, I'm in pain a lot but meh f**k it, I'm still standing and enjoying my life so letting it get to me won't help matters.

So here I am, ready to tackle 2016 and hopefully be a bit more active here again, this is an amazing community and could never forget about this place ^^

Hey crohns brother! Let me guess, you also have a history of eating bad for years, lots of meat, sugar and so on? The western diet isn't very healthy. I have found that avoiding sugar and meat is the best cure for it, better than any medicin your doctor will give you. Most people can live like they didn't have the disease by going vegan, but most doctors don't suggest it, because changing your behavior is harder than eating three pills a day and having a little pain. I would call my self a part time vegan (lol) and the differences between the days that I eat a plant based diet and the days I eat meat, candy and drink cola is huge.

Currently I'm at my dads over the holidays, trying to study while I'm here, tired of being behind all the time. January will probably be the most stressful month ever for me. So it is a lot of stress, like a weight on my shoulder all the time. I just have to hold it up for a little while and then I will be fine. Hopeful still!

I think it was amazing. Beautiful and entertaining. Of course it had that element of the protagonists always surviving impossible scenarios, but that's how star wars has always been. I think PogoP summed it up quite good.

I ordered these babies, got them for around 200 euros so I couldn't resist them. Already have the Sennheiser PC360 and have been thinking about the HD 650's for a while, but I wanted something different, and the Philips has been praised everywhere on the internet.

PS I traded in the mechanical keyboard I posted earlier for the same model but with blue cherry MX switches instead. I realized I like the clicky tactile feel of those way better :). I also fitted rubber dampener rings on every key:

typing on this thing feels AMAZING now =)

How is it compared to typing without them? I always bottom out when I type because that is what I have done all my life. Thinking about getting these so that I bottom out faster and thus can write faster etc, also they make so much noise. ):

I can't really choose just one... so I look like an ass taking up so much space.

Cod4 had some great SP moments. The sniper mission is probably my favorite.

One of the best single player maps ever created for sure. I have played i countless of times. Rare to see such atmosphere in a mission. :)

I like it, but I feel like there is "too much" going on. Making colors and details less or more thought over might improve this.

    Get a higher resolution monitor?

I know of DSR (Dynamic Super Resolution) for nvidia graphics cards, but I've not done much with it.

Steam also offers an uncompressed screenshot to be stored which would help the quality potentially without rubbish jpg compression.

But really... Why do you want/need high resolution screenshots?

The uncompressed screenshots do not work with CSGO.

The theme looks amazing judging from the two pictures. :)

I can see a rationale for the rifle changes, but honestly it seems like the effort to push the AUG and SSG is kind of never going to work. The user experience on those guns totally sucks, they become inaccurate RNG machines after the very first bullet, and the whole point of them is to pop off targets long range. If you miss your first shot, it's useless, but aren't they supposed to be accurate?

People just want want reliability of their guns, it's why you'll settle for not having a scope with an AK or m4, at least if you miss you can't blame the gun. Or, that was how it worked.

The AWP/AK/m4 trifecta has pretty much always defined CS when other games would have more balanced arsenals but maybe nothing that feels as compelling as that combo. I've read that the change to accuracy was less than 2%, in any event it would be interesting to learn the rationale behind a change, but explaining it to the community just gives them ammunition in reactionary arguments, so I totally get why that doesn't happen more often and I definitiely don't think the community should act as armchair game developers on minute details like this.

The AUG and SG are accurate, the hard part is the recoil. AUG and SG are just a mess to play with, no feeling what so ever, with an AK you feel like a god, and with the M4 like a stealthy accurate sharp shooter.

They honestly feel like the guns in those f2p fps games, no effort put into them what so ever, just look at the SG, that thing look hideous.

Bursting feels so much more random now, I get kills on obvious misses and less hits on what I would have expected a kill on earlier

Because the rifles are so random now, it sucks. Luck over skill. Valve went the complete opposite way of what people wanted, really sad. :/

Valve shouldn't touch the game's balance at all, that shouldbe at the hand of the very best players of the game. They just can't get it right. Sure they made adadad less effective with pistols (pistols are still too good), but added an AWP for 850, nice thinking.

And why won't they playtest their updates? ONE playtest on this patch and they would have realized how stupid it was.

How can you keep making the same mistake over and over, I thought they learned their lesson after the AUG update. How many times can you make a mistake and not realize how stupid it is?

Studied 10-14 hours/day for a week and wrote the exam yesterday, today I have been chillin almost the entire day. On Wednesday I have my last exam, then I can relax for a couple of days. Will be amazing, but first I gotta make sure I deserve it, so tomorrow is study day. Regression, time series and index here I come! On Friday I move to my own apartment again, 19m2, but the rent is just ridiculously low. The exam on Wednesday will determine if my life is shit or very very good.
