I used to use -insecure for recording demo but currenly i dont have got -insecure in autoexec and config so i dont know where is problem,is there any special autoexec/config for Hammed Editor? Im using Expert copiling. What should i do? Thank you :)

you are using the game launched after compiling or the game as usual then launching the map via the console?

Afaik, there is a way to export brushes (or vmf files) as a model file which you can then load into a 3D modeling program so you have the correct scale to work with. But i haven't created any models myself yet, so i'm not sure how the workflow is.

the export to dxf tool as Tomm said.

Hello everyone! First of all sorry for my bad English.

Now that I have more free time I will spend more hours at my map of CSGO.

In this post I'm going to ask you some help. I understand the workings of Source Engine, and seen but there are many people doing amazing things with their maps using props too large parts of the stage, eg stairs, railings, arches, facades.

I was done with small props in Blender, for example chairs, tables, decorative items and more. I do it with the help of a model character and do their level. (which does not appear disproportionate)

I wish I knew how to do my playable models so you can fit them perfectly on my map with fair measures.

    Thanks for your help.

    Map example using this technique:

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/J9BCTvk.jpg]

The railing and stairs fit perfectly into the height of the room and just the right distance to the railings. How the measures are calculated to make it in blender?

the guy who did that one I think he used sketchup to do it, but you can import your dxf to blender then reexport it into whatever software you have :)

Yes, some comments are harsh and can understand that's depressing. Think that's what gamers say when they see maps on the workshop though. They are brutal.

you may be right, but I guess I hoped the mapcore community wouldn't react like the cs go community.

Well, to go 'pro' you must be able to withstand any kind of critics.

yeah good luck with that :)

Wouldn't be better starting by distancing the CT spawn back a bit / reducing the trip Ts walk every round? The problem I always thought this map having, is that CT have too much advantage over Ts in positioning themselves, being able to pin them at bridge+water and double doors.

Distancing/shortening the spawn, shortening the bridge, opening (redesigning) double doors should go a long way, more than adding barriers and stuff(?).

Don't think anyone said it's bad to make remakes :? I've actually read and thought myself that remaking a map can teach a lot. Hopefully the idea would be to spawn something much different, but "fixing" would be great.

I'm afraid that aiming to remake very popular maps is never gonna pay back in terms of popularity. But I dunno, maybe one can get lucky.

yeah I probably overreacted because I myself has trouble at first with my map because I felt people were kinda aggressive because they thought I was bad and so were my ideas and that it couldn't progress. And I think that was unfair, and I felt it was happening too to Tensei right there, and I felt like I had to help him :)

Sucks :( Looks like you made the right pick on NV for game 1 though so there's some points back :)

I had to install CS:GO on a work laptop to do my picks last year. serious goals ;)

Never bet against french people ;)

I think you won't be right about Na'Vi beating Luminosity too :)

I think I'm sticking to this story - that some company have hired this "shelter" for storage. It says so on the paper, but in secret, they have set up servers which are hosting illegal stuff. Maybe that can help coming up with a name

He got his name with Gwalior and Museum, released before Cache, if my memory doesn't trick me

probably, I don't deny his talents, I'm just saying that he is a respected mapper and he did remakes which is the proof there is nothing wrong about doing a remake :)

Well, Cache and Season had a working layout and there was no need to fix anything. The remakes consist of mostly visual changes. Aztec on the other hand, doesn't have a good layout. These are two different things.

This is why we should be supportive of him because he will need bravery if he succeed in fixing it. Not having a good layout doesn't mean it can't be fixed. Personnally I have my map as an example, at first it was disastrous, now it play almost okay, and as okay as many maps on the workshop, which is proof that there always is room for improvement when you want to, and this is why I think that he can potentially do it and that we shouldn't be that dismissive about this idea.

FMPONE remade Cache and Season and both maps are today considered as amazing, while he is considered as a god, so I don't see why Tensei shouldn't fix Aztec if he wants to.

Hah, wait when some anti-awp pro players will say that it has to be nerfed once again and valve will give awp only 1 mag of bullets. That means, you will think twice before trying to wallbang shit out of opponent. And it will require even more skill, because, you know, you only got 10 shots. Also they could reduce clip size to 5 bullets and give one additional clip. Still you got 10 shots, but you get to reload twice as fast.

I will post pictures from river area in about 30 minutes from now on, and update download link of course.

the AWP isn't the issue, the maps which gives them too much possibilities are :P

Do present your changes on river then :)

Hey, first of all it seems really dark, you'll need to fix that, because visibility is very important :)

(For the overview use the cl_leveloverview command, it's cleaner :) )

You may control those long sightlines too, and judging from the overview, I don't see really where are the bombsites, if you have a mid, and if so, where is it?

I might be wrong, but last time I checked, it seems this mod only supports the steam version of the game. (Although I believe I read somewhere they're trying to release a stand-alone version as well? Might be wrong) Anyway, game is what, 5 bucks? Buy it again.

will do it anyway but I like the fact that I need the CD to run the game with the non steam version, as a bit of nostalgia :) it feels great to have it still working and everything !

I downloaded the file from the other link they had, but it always redirects me to the fact I don't have the steam version when I want to play it after install :)

thanks :) However It's the same file so it won't work. I'm sure I'll end up finding a way around, I'll share if needed :)

    ~

Have a situation with the girlfriend: she wanted to talk, a month ago now. Basically she wants to seriously look forward. She made clear that she's looking at having kids in five years, and if I have no such intentions that's a deal breaker.
As I'm not even on a job that I want for my future, I am struggling imagining a life farther than a year from now. The positive side of this, is that it shook me and motivated me doing something to change the situation and she's supportive...

...as I'm more and more intolerant toward my current "pay the bills" job, which makes me feel stressed and easily unnerved.
Trying to channel this into being productive, so I finally started two projects that should allow me to freshen up/learn skills and be something to put in a portfolio, but I haven't been able to work regularly and make progress really. I should also start applying with my current CV, just to see how it goes, might manage to get back into IT for starters.

Game dev related, I'm looking into Unity to try creating a prototype with a friend (I would do the level design) but it's quite depressing having to learn so much to do the smallest thing. Tried a bit ProBuilder but not sure the free version has all the features necessary to do basic building(?) and spending 95$ for the full seems excessive when I know I could build stuff out of the box in UE. Since was on offer on Steam couple days ago, I purchased a Blender "Game Asset Creation" video course.
The other project would be a management tool for the place where I work, which I think would improve many people lives a lot. Hoping to get a (canned) prototype in front of my boss and pitch it asking to put me to work on it at least half of my work time.

All of this is being very stressful, so I also eat shit like a pig while not going to the gym or doing any regular exercise of sorts: I'm so not in the shape I would like to be.
Seems there's time for doing nothing, and this constant morale swings (creativity boost, reality downer) is making me feel a bit distant from the girlfriend, while she's fine now that I've promised and started doing something for my situation. Instead I even dreamt a couple times of another girl (the first one I was liking when I got to the UK).

hey, have you tried the networking approach to find the job you want? :) there are less offers on the market than offers which aren't, so it opens up huge possibilities :)

    good luck to you :)
