What @Radu said is correct, I want to add another example that is a common sore point in (community) CS maps: doors.
It’s important to colour code doors to allow players to ignore doors that are there for decoration/realism VS interactive doors.
On top of that you might want to make things very clear by removing door knobs/handles from non-interactive doors, even put an obstacle in front.

Colour coding is definitely a good thing in level design, great to try implement from draft.
What texture set you are using?

Apple WWDC costs $1600 to participate, sells out in a matter of hours if not minutes, yet the keynote stream is live and free. The workshop sessions are also available after the event.
E3 costs $250 and is covered by different websites in real time, plus publishers have their own streams.
Even Star Citizen, the most heavily monetised legal rip-off joke of a game, has tickets for $140 but a free stream.
Have you ever been to a concert? You don’t pay just for the content of the presentation when you decide to attend, there’s a suite of other benefits from networking, to trying the products presented etc.

Also a class doesn’t seem to make that long time, compared to a map. So you’d expect that part of production would have been wrapped well before maps are finished.

The Palace one has appeared once in the last few days. I have yet to play any of the night time maps, or any other mode outside of TDM).
Interesting stuff.
By the way I saw en-passant that they have disabled night time maps before launch

not sure if they ever returned in the playlist as stated there.
What strikes me, from what you saying, is that they offer a very weird experience in terms of map rotation. Are maps voted? It just sounds broken or the way you’d expect servers to work on a P2P hosted system

a bit surprised this non-checking common lurk corners still happens in pro matches. Anyway USP one-taps ?

Many peeps and pros are saying the MP maps of the new game suck. Thought would be interesting hear what designers think
i didn’t finish watching the video they reference, when that one came out, it was pretty boring as design videos go. Didn’t offer the usual walkthrough of maps I enjoy watching to keep up on the latest COD offering.External Content www.youtube.comContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. Is it looking like it will have perf problems on normal PS4?

I used to really like cobble across different iterations. In casual was fine. It left or was perma banned in pro rotation when I started following the pro tournaments.
I do like the changes seen there judging by what you posted.
Then I can agree with Vaya about making core changes to Cobble… just as well as other maps like D2. They’ve been around for so long it’s just boring to see them, I’ve played D2 a handful since was remastered.
Im really curious to find out if Valve has been working on rebuilding Cobble for competitive, given they did some radical changes last time.

Death Stranding is coming to PC as well
since this was retweeted by Remedy, complimenting their publisher 505, have the feeling this will end up Epic Store exclusive

Good to see that all these projects recieve the additional time to make them great. Happy to see that long term brand quality is prioritised.
Sometimes I wonder if that’s actually the truth, or if behind the quality of the game, or quality of life of the devs, they are mostly thinking that the game will do better in a different window. That maybe they don’t need the release when announced, because other games are doing alright. Maybe they just need the announcement to drive the stock up… and the quality is a byproduct.

I lost my map files somehow, and dont really have anything right now.
Would there be any point of starting to make a map this late into this competition? (Detailing in this short time will be hard).
There’s 4 months still! I don’t see why not. If you have started a map you must remember the layout so will be queasy and quick to create it.
The problem might be the detailing, but if the layout is tested then it’s just work and so it all hinges on your patience and proficiency. But having worked in the past months you know where you are headed.
You could always fall back to default assets or find royalty free ones or even license something that you only need to convert to the right format… there are so many ready-made kits on the different 3D marketplaces that would allow to keep your style consistent. I’m no artist and we are talking about stuff made by professionals, so I wouldn’t hesitate one minute to buy something like that, considering how much longer it would take me to get to produce that amount of assets (to a much lower quality).
