It just looks like a ton of random action scenes compiled together with no coherence or story. I must have watched like 3 trailers about the movie now and I still don't know wtf it's about or why I should give a shit.

I wouldn't say it's all over the place, but [after watching more videos analysing the timeline or more general plot devices shared in this type of film] it seems that even once you turn this inside out and feel you understand the mechanics, you still have to wave your hands and just suspend your disbelief...

Also, how is Negan now the most likeable character on the show? Everyone else annoys the shit out of me now except Negan.

Can you name them in order of annoyance, top most annoying? :D I do agree with you, they all seem on an emo trip... although can't say I do like how Negan has turned into a seemingly wuss. He's not, as for some actions he takes, but most of the time acts like he is... doesn't make him interesting to watch as before, imo. It is as if they were thinking of making him a Rick replacement down the line. From the analysis videos I got the impression he stays more badassy in the comics.

I find the overview map really sexy, interesting geometry and layout. From that it feels the spawn points are in the wrong place somehow...

Anyway I'm not sure if is worth spending all these words on map design theory, it would be clear to anyone that doesn't know Soldat's background in Halo mapping that the map doesn't follow the common conception of a CS map.

What I'm really interested to understand is what you want to get out of this @Soldat Du Christ. I think you can tell from the feedback here and previous discussions that you can't expect to put this out in the workshop and become the most played custom map. So what do you want to get out of it, is it just a learning experience for the tools?

I can see this working well in a fun mode (Flying Scoutsman, Arms Race, DM) as it is, if you want it as a viable de_ map there's no way you are going to convince players with words. You either build it for a small community that is open to try wacky maps (3Kliksphillip has created a whole new mode and his community has been having fun building and playing on his server) or you are going to have to compromise and leverage some of the interesting concepts you've got going on. For example, reading about the rooftop gameplay makes me think it would be interesting having movement happening on two distinct layers of the map, ground floor and rooftops; it could be interesting to reverse the current state of affairs and make the rooftops the main way to get around (read: add appropriate cover, vantage points) and having to drop and expose yourself to plant the bomb. I could go on :)

How do you feel about this? Do we need to change the price of games or we reached an "ideal threshold"?

When you look at this data it feels games should cost more, but any commentator would crucifix you for that... which feels equally fair considering events like Activision cutting staff on a profit-record year.

Not to diminish the effort of a remake, but is only me feeling weird to see a game evaluated on the same scale as new productions?

Anyway I read in one article that the game should be discounted for people who owned previous titles… that true? Anyone verified this?

I got the Mafia 2 remake added for free on my Steam, but I was thinking of getting the trilogy on PS4.

I manage to still make time if I like the game, I don’t need much sleep, but it becomes too much of a mission: it took me four months to play the whole of Spider-Man + DLC with most of the challenges, and I think I pretty much exclusively played that game… you end up spoiling it for yourself and fatigued.

    Shorter, mature games ftw.

They recently also added all their games to steam and it's just another way to get extra revenue for them. Everyone wins. Perhaps that changes once their own platform grows bigger...

Yeah I've seen articles pouring today as well, with more details filtering in, with Spencer saying they will honour the current deals (I mean ofc, would cost a fortune with the contracts that have been signed).

MS seems much more open under Nadella, I mean now they even developing Android devices!

Maybe they were just hit too hard in this gen, or they might be even happy and thinking this lateral strategy will yield the best results. I would bet that the very new titles like Starfield will be Xbox/PC exclusive, at least for one year.

Edit: Doesn't sound such a great remaster, it's still single thread limited somehow/in some instances, some artistical choices are more than questionable and/or ruined by having used the console branch of the engine... the "can it run Crysis" joke is not fun anymore, it seems they make it unplayable by the means of bad practices/not enough work. I mean the UI is the same!(?)

I was seriously considering getting this at some point but I might just try fiddling with settings of the original when I get round to play it.

Edit: adjusting resolution impacts on CPU (more than it should - fantastic segment here)

I was going to bump the topic cos I've finally seen it Sunday night and I went "fuuuuuuk". Both in the good and bad sense.

As @Minos says (and I've been told) the audio mix is quite unfortunate (at first I thought was a problem with the 4DX projection*), not sure if they were thinking of making this feel "realistic", but the dialogues are too muddled with the ambient noises, to the point even my partner struggled to understand many dialogues, so is not just my second-language nature talking here. This is a big problem because the movie a constant barrage of either information or action, so there's not really time to digest what just happened.

We walked out with the feeling we got the gist of the story (which I kinda confirmed watching the explainer below) but felt very unsatisfied by not being able to grasp the whole thing. I can't say I didn't like it, after all I felt I understood this better than Interstellar, and I've just been thinking of it in the background a lot, trying to figure out the kinks of the story. I wonder if I feel this way thanks to having played Quantum Break and read the booklet that came with it, which explains concepts that are shared here.

I also wonder if this would have worked better in a mini-series format, expanding to give the proper pauses to allow the audience to digest the info.

*An aside on watching 4DX films: it was pretty cool, although it feels overdone at some points. I really liked the way the seats follow the camera at points, at the very beginning for example the camera leans in the scene and the chairs follow the movement to great satisfaction. They have this compressed air jets behind your head that simulate projectiles whizzing near the main character's head, but I think it would be much better if the chairs had tweeters in the head rest to allow for some positional audio.

I wouldn't be surprised if currently announced titles will roll out as planned, but further down the line everything becomes xbox/pc/xcloud exclusive.

For the good of gaming, I hope they keep releasing on Nintendo, it’s not really a rival when is downgraded and released after a (long) while.

In the lead up to the movie it might be interesting to watch Nolan's trilogy behind the scenes. WB just posted it a few days ago and came up on my YT last night, so I haven't watched it and not sure if is just a mash up of the videos from the original disc releases... I only bought The Dark Knight so I wouldn't know :D
