Finished Mr Robot a few weeks ago. I had watched S1 when the show started, but then dragged my feet to start the rest... for some reason when I started S2 found it boring and abandoned it. Watched everything from the start and found it as one of the finest shows, it's a tremendous thriller sometimes. I just feel it should end 4 episodes earlier than when it does. I know it's done to drive home and resolve the complexity of Elliot, but i guess the reveal just takes too long and feels disconnected from the tease that takes place at the beginning of the season.

Anyway there are a couple of highlight episodes that are just too good (The silent episode and the one following above all)

Looking forward to seeing the mental health fallout explosion from this.

Really sorry to hear about the situation, it’s something we have lost perspective, being all stuck by ourselves.

And for the rest, yes, agree… I know it’s not much comfort but here we haven’t got it too bad, just thinking of the American craze, swinging between total disregard of any safety or Karens. Or in Italy, where the lockdown has been much stricter than here, fucking actual roadblocks and “papers please” requests if you headed out; vans with speakers driving by playing nonstop “stay inside”; police fining you hundreds for being outside for leisure despite you were alone for miles (except the police officer coming to get you). Some people were saying the army should be in the streets, bringing rations to the plebs… I mean what the fuck, people had completely lost it.

speaking of gyms I just read today they are reopening but you have to put the mask on between each exercise, plus BYO mat and other shit.

Mmh what about having a weapon that can do that, but can break/wear out, or simply you have very scarce ammo, so you can kill someone in front but you might not be able to kill the next, and they could be more dangerous. Might be that the enemies are hard to hit and they counter you very hard if you miss. Or using a weapon means that more dangerous enemies will come round…

I dunno, I think we’d need to agree first what it means to be scared (in a videogame environment), in the sense we’ll never be so immersed that we’ll be genuinely scared like when your life is actually at stake.

In the general sense (from the dictionary) that fear is a sense of (deep) anxiety… I think there are many games that already achieve that.

and I think we forget that big part of the emotional response we get for stuff like this really has nothing to do with the (game) design, rather intangibles like art (lighting, characters) and most importantly (IMO) the sound effects. There are two-three games that I remember give me an actual chill along my spine: FEAR (the last escape scene), I think Alan Wake at some point, and… Untold Stories, which is a text adventure(!). The latter was really a perfectly timed combination of suspence and triggering sounds at the right time.

This is a great point, we need to remember DoDS came out while they were working on TF2 and the whole clarity/silhouette discourse was going on. I can imagine this game was a bit of an early test and/or there was kinda of a blanket mandate.

As a total addict of DoD, can only agree that the lack of “soul” was a factor in making me less passionate, it made it easier to stop playing, but the biggest negative was how the gun handling was changed, as well the movement. Of course the worst was the lack of players.

Wow, this looks very nice! Congrats on the release ?? this deserves more attention than it got.

only comment I have is that it seems to lack any “weenie” breaking the skyline to help with lineups.

It's just her suit in particular, it's such a ridiculous oversight. And even in the handful instances where they do draw the hoops, they haven't drawn the rear sides of them. I learned about this entire IP a day ago so I shouldn't care the slightest but come on what the fuck

I get your point but it’s barely visible most times, for the instances where it’s close up like you linked, it’s a matter of visual clarity, you would understand even less with the back part of the loops

Eh, sorry @ThunderKeil for the time sink ??‍♂️ I guess I have low expectations from animation stuff so it struck me better than it is.

if you analyse it yes, there’s an up and down and plot that strays in different directions but I guess it’s to setup the scene/world.

    but I wouldn’t over-analyse animation :D

some stuff comes back later as a reference/brief appearance.

No idea about Eve’s logo, I took it as a nod to woke culture but eh, ignored it. I agree it took me a couple episodes to get it right.

When I saw that I thought “only?”, I was expecting that costed them much more. Anyway gotta spend money to make money. And they have loads thanks to Fortnite… when you make up to $400 mil in a month, you paid for the free games for years ahead!

Not exactly about publishing, but seems more suitable new here than UE topics.

Epic Games is on the Adobe path and has now added to their portfolio of properties Artstation. Fees for those selling on the marketplace have dropped to Epic Games Store levels, and the Learning section is free for everyone.

Perfect analysis (hat’s so me), this game more than any others. I think being gritty and realistic, looking tough to beat… it all adds up to that approach. Then you read that needs patching to be good, even worse.
