This mechanisms always serve a purpose, but to me it’s just so glaring that feels too fake. I think doesn’t display courage in what you’re writing. You want to show your cards early, find a way to make it interesting till the end.

I can get over these “long games” in movies like Saw/thrillers in general, normally they have a clever way to explain things and things happen too fast to notice gaps, but you do it in sci-fi and I feel tricked, it’s basically a deus ex machina. We are talking about thirty years of plan…! Were they just waiting for K to accidentally uncover the secret?

Dunno maybe I just had too high expectations.

Seen this last night.

Its a visually great film, also music/sound send you back to Blade Runner.

But that’s it, I didn’t get into the story. They use one of those misleading tricks that annoy the audience so much.

Hope you guys do. I’ll give it another shot when comes out on steaming, maybe after watching the original again.

This is news. Like you say, it regularly happens.

Not much to add really, I never played it it for the sake of the players that supported it, I would hope for a release of the server to allow people to keep playing.

I can only think of depressing things when I read this kind of news, it’s a sign of time passing and I guess a cautionary tale to not invest buying for this kind of games? At the same time you can think of it as a service, a ticket you pay for your enjoyment. (And consequently my head goes to think: can’t you find anything better to spend you money on?)

Maybe this is why I think games should have some sort of single player capability, at least people can still own and fire it up in nostalgia after games go out of commission.

I know business is complicated, but “mods are never as good as full releases”, I don’t think I would mind, if I was making a game of this kind, to release it to the wild, patch it so people can play over LAN etc.

I live in a bubble and just found out there has been a new mass shooting in USA, in Las Vegas.

im surprised there are no topics on the subject – although there’s not much to say really. Las Vegas is not a city relevant to our industry but felt wrong not to acknowledge what happened.

I used to have documentary night when I was young with my parents, just with the Italian equivalent of Sir David.

Last year I watched Planet Earth 2 and Frozen Planet, and they threw my compass off... I mean I was suffering, I was feeling physical and mental pain, like my stomach would contract and I would feel super excited and sad at the same time: they make me feel to just travel, like I always wanted to do. Seriously questioning to drop everything, job, girlfriend... to just go.

Cos I would have imagined a role like his in a company like that, for the kind of games they make, that he would be super busy in pre-production, then addressing things that crop up, but have also enough time to plan the next game etc @[HP]

Juh so the planks break as well? Is there alternative ways? What about a well placed nade (or accidental one)... how many planks would clear?

I think that if planks are breakable then you need an alternative way, you can't make a map that potentially causes teams not to fight.

Really what I'd do would be to have planks as an alternative high-risk-high-reward route, and have a safer main way. That would add strategy and paranoia factor as someone would have to camp the alternate route to ensure there are no CT sneaking.
