Hey @MikeGon, I'm sad about your disqualification, haven't tried your map but looks good. You certainly poured a lot of effort and that's admirable. I hope discussing the issue here is helping cos I can only imagine how much it burns.
My thinking is completely in line with what @text_fish wrote. I have never seen any contest letting people update/review their submission after the deadline; that's just how it works, from the local poetry contest to public administration contracts... imagine if a builder was allowed to change their offer (=submission) for a multi-million contract. You wouldn't know if they completely changed their offer or just a comma. Here map judges wouldn't know if you just fixed an ambience sound or major brushwork.
What @leplubodeslapin suggested can technically work but is completely impractical and a very tough ask. That was a much bigger assumption than thinking you can't submit after the deadline!
I hope that you'll find the contest thought you more than what you lost by not passing to the finalists stage and don't think twice to participate again

Oh now you have to write a backstory for that eye-scar

Apparently it's going to be one of the first ever mobile apps to be available for pre-purchase

In the screen it seems to small for such a pool, also the plants on the side detract from it

I never heard of this before now so I don't think it will impact at all. Maybe a little, if he throws down the gauntlet and does something in terms of negative coverage... I don't think the audience of this kind of game is the average Pewdiepie follower or in general interested in his opinion of a game to purchase.

By the authors of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (and Painkiller and Bullestorm - I guess acquired talent?) a new hellish shooter

I played it on the Xbox, it wasn't anything great but I'll still put it in my account lol.
I think the most interesting part was the environment art, in terms of shooter was a COD clone and the story wasn't as good as hyped by the trailers (although I remember rumors of nefarious influences from the publisher in that regard, as they wanted to serialise it and make it their COD).
It's a shame cos was a great setting/plot and I think the MP was offering more than COD at the time(?)

speaking of free games, Ubisoft is also giving away titles for their anniversary. This week is World In Conflict, if you have Uplay installed you just need to go on it and it should be on the front page, otherwise

up next is Assassin's Creed Black Flag

This is just sad.
The concept of a bridge constructor game with portals is nice though, but it's so painful to see great valve games being used like that. It's a bit like that Portal Pinball game.
I'm happy, cos I have a couple of spin-offs ideas, and seeing Valve getting on board with it, makes me feel happy
even though I probably will never be able to pitch them -
No Season 8 in 2018, will drop in 2019

It appears that the show will go ahead without Kevin Spacey
http://www.denofgeek.com/uk/52993/house…s-season-6-news
killing him off screen will be crap. I find a bit too extreme when they only needed him for half of the first episode... and originally they made it sound like Spacey would have been cut anyway following the original material from the book.

Gosh Portal 2 was announced 7 years ago... there's a spin off that has just been announced. I guess it will be totally stand alone and not a Source game, but I still put it in here, split if you think this is inappropriate.

There’s a stand alone add-on coming (estimated 2018)
in the meantime will be early access. In the steam page they mention a rogue-like mechanic.
i find it a bit weird that the add-on will be free for the owners of the game (or those who buy the original between now and release), and you have to pay for the early access to help them.

Like I said on twitter, really like the concept!
Good job on the final version, I think that with some proper art and maybe a procedural arena, this would be an awesom 3-7$ game to fire up for quick breaks.

You guys, what did you do to piss off the organizers
you gonna end up on Santa's naughty list this year... -

If you're doing CTs as well, the camo could be brighter on them. It would make the player models distinguishable, but also fitting the environment perfectly. Plus, it would look badass af.
Keep it going! Player models are awesome stuff to explore!!
Also aren't most camos now pixel design?
@FMPONE do you think custom player models would be an obstacle on the map being selected for an operation? I would kinda think that Valve wouldn't want people to mess with their models? (But I think this is rad, that we could do with a bit of COD in CSGO -- ie: I'd like custome hostages depending on setting but also custom operators like yours would be great)

Grats to all those that managed to complete and submit their maps!
The collection on the workshop is chock-full, awesome
