It might have been left that way in case any boosts lead to players being able to see through walls? Only a couple of hours after the update there were posts on Reddit of boosts allowing players to see through walls into bomb sites.

    It's looking better!

I'll be playing it tonight because I want a chance at the dragon lore before end of operation

    Enjoy your SCAR-20 Storm

Looks like Valve intends to keep Cobble in the map pool a little longer. They released a big update to it last night:

    • Major changes to Cobblestone

    Bombsite A:

    • Made bombsite A courtyard smaller
    • Removed spiral stairs at back of bombsite A
    • Pushed forward side-balcony at bombsite A, making it easier to check corners before jumping down
    • Added a static door to entrance to connector from bombsite A
    • Shortened battlement in long A, making it easier to check
    • Raised wall around bombsite A slightly, to give some cover when out in the open
    • Added additional cover in bombsite A
    • Removed balcony at CT side of long A
    • Added an additional chest-height wall at A ramp
    • Removed large boulders in A site

    Bombsite B:

    • Made bombsite B courtyard smaller
    • Rerouted T main entrance to bombsite B
    • Made it easier to throw grenades into B site from a safe position as T
    • Added some cover on T platform in bombsite B
    • Moved bombsite B more to the middle of the courtyard
    • Flattened ground at bombsite B
    • Removed back of B area
    • Hut at back of B can now be shot through
    • Added a static door to entrance to bombsite B from connector

    Other:

    • Removed stairs and overpass route from dropdown room
    • Widened upper dropdown passage
    • Added a ramp to dropdown to make it easier to peek into lower
    • Players can now jump up via flowerbed in connector to get into dropdown room
    • Removed walls in T tunnels
    • Removed CT sniper room
    • Added a static door to CT side of water room
    • Tweaked layout of water room slightly
    • Removed double window room near T spawn
    • Moved T spawns forward a bit
    • Added a direct ladder to T sniper tower
    • Various optimizations
    • Increased player visibility
    • Fixed a bug where very few chickens were spawned

I wonder if these changes will make a difference? Hopefully if it is played at ESL it won't be so boring to watch.

There's ClutchCon next weekend with 16 teams attending - http://www.clutchcon.com/counter-strikeglobal-offensive-1

And then as Puddy mentioned EMS One Katowice starts early March - http://www.hltv.org/news/14036-esl-one-katowice-with-250000

The final was great but I feel Cobble let it down. I think it's pretty clear none of the teams or community like the map in the competitive scene. I don't mind the map myself but every time it is played by the pros it's always a bit boring I find. I know Valve have put a fair bit of work into the map to try and give the sites some cover and to attempt to shorten the rotation times between sites but I still don't think it's there.

I think I'd prefer to see it replaced by Train or Season. Maybe they will once the operation is over?

Great tournament though. Had me on the edge of my seat up until Cobble.

Has anyone been watching the MLG tournament this weekend? I was actually surprised with the production quality of the event and the commentators have been doing a great job. The game between NiP and Fnatic yesterday was some of the best CS I've seen. Top notch stuff. The finals are on in about 6 hours.

It was nice seeing Train played at the ESEA finals last weekend. I have missed the old bird and it'd be nice to see it back in the rotation.

Got myself gold in the pick 'em

Was a great tournament from what I saw though, wasn't able to see the final but I might watch it later.

I think Fnatic did the right thing forfeiting after that match. It may not be technically illegal but it just felt morally wrong. LDLC would have most likely have won that match after they pretty much played the CT half perfectly. Hopefully people stop all the hating and witch hunting now and just focus on playing some good CS.

Pasha's interview was great, my friend.

I was excited for this when I saw the teaser, but the moment I heard "hybrid" in the trailer I kinda lost a bit of that excitement. I wish they'd just stick to plain old dinosaurs but I guess this is a new movie for a new generation. They'll never top the first one in my eyes.

I'll still go and see it because dinosaurs. And the main theme music.

Is it clear if one can switch first-third person anytime? Just wondering if FPS is a special mode you have to play into.

I have seen it mentioned that you can set up the game to change views in certain situations. For example, when you go into cover it will automatically switch to third person perspective.

So I'd imagine you'd just press select any other time you wish to change views.

Just watching a stream of a guy playing this and it's bringing back some nostalgia X(

The cinematics, as Sprony said, are very sexy and the remake of Bloodline (Blood Gulch in Halo 1) is very pretty.

I played a lot of Halo 1 back in the day with my brother in coop and eventually online when we got a PC. We loved it. I never got into the rest of the Halo's since I had a PC so missed out on all of the others since I had moved onto PC shooters. However, I would buy the shit out of this if it came to PC. Would love to play through the whole series in coop with my brother and the 100+ multiplayer maps would keep us busy for a good while.

    Microsoft... please.

Could you not just rename the map on your server (e.g. de_dust2_vers2)? This way the game will recognise the players don't have that map in their game directory and will download it for them.

Yeah I was saddened by this news too. Not much we can do but wait.

I guess it'll be worth it, especially for the mods. Like this one:

HD CJ model. (Meant to be in his 40's here. Guy plans on putting him in GTA v )

Is anyone else having issues with screentearing now? Getting +100 frames on CBBL but open areas hurt my brain due to all the screentearing

Been playing with vsync off and a non-locked framerate, not sure if I now need to change this because *reads last patch notes* ....they coloured the radiocommands in chat?

I played a few games on D2 and Cache last night and didn't notice any screen tearing. Though I am playing on a 144hz monitor I was getting 240+ fps all the time.

Definitely looks like it has improved over your last version, good work!

As mentioned, you should probably lose the railings and such. UT is a very fast paced games and stuff like that just slows people down. Basically, you don't want people jumping and then crouching through stuff like windows, and people should be able to fall to lower levels without any or much hindrance.

Done any work on the distance between flag rooms?
