I started playing the Dota2 beta which I've had access to for several months . It's pretty good, remind me of Dota somehow, although I'm not sure if I'd rather go player Heroes of Newerth... HMMM.

I also finally got to playing Battle Field 3 multiplayer on xbox live. Is nice.

^this and i agree with pretty much everything. Why does so many love act 3? it's the most shit one by far. The setting might be exciting (it's not), but it's so repetitive, ridiculous (azmodan) and has horrible pacing. I feel like vomiting after the succubus tower.and why is the writing so awful? I just don't understand. Is it because the guy who writes it (Metzen?) has been in Blizzard since forever, so he gets to do whatever he wants? or do they actually pay people to do this? isn't it difficult to get a job at blizzard? why would they hire someone who can't write? can someone explain?

bad writing in video games doesn't surprise me and usually doesn't bother me, but when it's this bad and it's coming from a company that could afford better...

After hating on D3 a lot myself I have come to the conclusion that the target market was intended to be ridiculously broad. They already knew that any Diablo fan would buy D3 so they wrote and tailored the game to new players and as far as story goes it feels like its intended for kids. I actually heard one of the guys on the Gamers with Jobs podcast say that he let his 8 year old son play it and his kid is having a blast with it; as though it were the coolest story ever. Which seems odd, because the game technically isn't for players under what 17? So yea, the writing sucks its meant for kids I think lol?

I think this game looks pretty solid, I like the idea of a third person military shooter that focuses on characters and story. Watched a bit of this game being played through and it looks solid, appears as though the aiming handles well, and the story progresses steadily enough. I'm curious if their is anything in the story that might actually be exceptionally well written, so far from what I've seen the writing/ dialogue has been stunted by the need to drive the game on. Or perhaps the dialogue is just not the best. Either way, I'm interested, may pick this one up some time.

I just saw The Amazing Spiderman. Didn't expect a lot from it but I actually liked this one more then the original. Of course not flawless, but I had a lot of fun.

That is good to hear, I really wanted this one to be good I guess I'll have to go see it soon.

Yea, Italy looked like they had a chance for most of the first half, second half... not so much, and I finally knew they were screwed when I saw Thiago go down mid stride. Spain definitely deserved that win though, and the celebration was fun to watch... teehee... mini soccer stars running around on the field .

Yea, its disheartening to hear that so many promising studios have been forced to close recently... and man, just getting the job and having the place shutdown is a nightmare.

Yea, wow that game was entertaining! I'd like to say I saw it coming, but honestly I expected Germany to slide the win out 1-0 or 2-1. I'm kind of glad, I really like both teams, but this Italian team is growing on me; really enjoy watching them play. :derp:

I WANT ITALY TO WIN THIS!!

I'm right handed and use the arrow keys. Being whatever handed makes screw all difference. Why, do you ask? BECAUSE CONSOLE GAMEPADS ARE UNIHAND! trotrotlrtorlQue disagreement with this comment.

What would your hotkeys of choice be if you had three or four skills to assign hotkeys to?

Appreciate the feedback everyone, evidently some differing opinions, but it appears that some gamers do care.

I am a lefty and use the arrow keys. I find it annoying every time I play a game that I have to re-bind everything to be based around the arrow keys, mainly just because there are less keys around the arrow keys than there are around WASD.My reasoning for using the arrow keys makes sense... As a kid, I thought, oh I wanna move left, I'll press that left arrow there on my keyboard. Who in their right mind would think, I wanna move left, I'll press A!

Pogo, you specifically mention disliking having to re-bind keys, we do intend to have the arrow keys function properly by default, but if I said you have three skills to use what hotkeys would you rather use to activate them? My best guess might be the Right CTRL, keypad 0(zero), and keypad 1?

Urgh, the match itself was pretty boring, but that's what you get when 2 teams with an amazing defense meets. Glad Spain took it.

Hey guys, the primary purpose for this thread is to pose a question but hey feel free to post anything even remotely related to left handed gaming!

So here is the issue: I am working on a game, my team and I were discussing some of the controls, specifically the key bindings, when one of them mentioned having a left handed key bind setup. I had not considered this because the only left handed gamers I know use all the same controls as I do on consoles and PC. I am wondering from the perspective of a left handed player and from the perspective of developers, should we have a specific left handed key bind structure? Do you left handed gamers often change the hotkeys for games to suit your needs? If so which keys do you prefer? For example our game uses WASD and 1,2,3. What would be the left handed variant of this?

That's certainly interesting, does that video reflect the majority of the game? You mentioned that you made three decisions throughout, is the rest of the game just like the video, or is there some form of gameplay in there as well?

The majority of times that players went down in the Portugal v Spain game they were diving, but there really wasn't a lot of diving. Granted Ronaldo pulled a couple of dives and got the calls, but there were plenty of Spanish players diving about as well. If anyone gets the 'Dive of the Match' award from me it has to be Nani. Don't get me wrong, I like Nani, but his first great run with the ball on the right wing where he cut between two defenders he should NOT have gone down. He was barely touched, and even if he had been fouled he was free to break away into open space with very few defenders left; it was just stupid, and because of it the ref didn't call the next time he made a great run and actually was fouled. *sigh*

Anyways, the game was good, perhaps a bit dull because of the lack of real opportunities to score, but I appreciated the quality of both teams that made it so difficult for either to have their way. Unfortunate that Portugal just kind of sat back during the extra time, and stupid not to have Ronaldo shoot earlier. Nothing against Alves, great shot really, but the order was a poor choice by Paulo. Also, Fabregas nearly screwed his shot up as well.

Too bad, in my opinion, but hey Germany can win this, so hopefully that happens. I want them to crush Spain too... hehe...

I think you can't really practice for being in a penalty shootout. Sure, you can practice shooting penalties...but I think the hardest part about it is the pressure and mental stress when everything depends on you not fucking up. Even the most experienced players have problems keeping their cool sometimes in this kind of situation.

True to a certain extent, you can't perform perfectly every time; hence the missed shot aimed for the corner and the crossbar shot. But Italy in particular seem to have it down, 3 out of 4 of the Italian shooters effectively tricked Hart.

DID NO ONE ELSE LAUGH AUDIBLY AT PIRLO'S PENALTY KICK?? It was so good!
