I went to see Kong: Skull Island today and I got exactly what I wanted out of it. Great visuals, delightful soundtrack, beautiful sets, well directed, good acting, amazing CGI, excellent pacing and a lot of monster mayhem. Sure, characters were a bit dull and nothing is fleshed out, but I'm you're not going to see Kong for great character arcs now are you?
Tip, if you go, wait until all the credits are done

I just played with @Sjonsson and his friend. I got raped and they made me feel old. I say, 5/7, I will play again.

I'm gonna wait tho, right now HDR is actually more important than 4k. I've had the pleasure of seeing Horizon running with HDR on during last year's PSX and holy shit man, it's gorgeous. Everybody's talking about 4k like it's the second coming, but it's just more pixels there's nothing special about it; HDR on the other hand is absolutely phenomenal.
I'll wait till there's a TV out there that can do 4k, HDR and a decent enough refresh rate for games, meanwhile my 5 year old 65" plasma still impresses me to this day.
Dude, what I saw, also had HDR.......wanna buy a car?

I grew up with a lot of pets, including 6 cats and a dog. I mourned their passing and even at my young age, I understood the grief. But it was different for my mother. Most of our cats reached a remarkable old age (around 20 years). But with each passing, I saw a bit of my mother die as well. Raised in a world where men are not supposed to cry and the loss of a pet is often easily dismissed, I never understood why until now.
After almost 16 years I had to end the life of my beloved cat Micio. My furry little friend had defied all odds, cheated death numerous times and surprised even the most seasoned vets with his recoveries and will to live. As long as he could live happy and without pain, I didn't care how much money it costed or how much I had to clean up after him. But this time, there was no cure or remedy and even while holding his paw when he got the final shot, he was still fighting to live and his gaze went right through me.
He's been with me since late 2001. That's almost half my life. I've played games, read books and watched countless movies with him. Petting him and enjoying each other's company or taking care of him when he was sick again. I knew this day was coming, but I could have never imagined how much it would hurt. His brothers couldn't say goodbye and are still looking for him. My daughter, who was there, doesn't understand and keeps asking me when he will back. I remember my mother and now I finally understand that I lost a part of my soul forever.

Last weekend I was waiting for my movie to start so I went to look at some TV's in a store nearby to kill the time. Because this game really wants to make me get a Pro and a 4K TV so I figured it wouldn't hurt to do some research. Then I saw a 65 Inch 4K OLED TV with Horizon on it and now I'm trying to sell my car.

I would love to see more companies support the community in a similar way Valve is doing with the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive operations or Team Fortress 2 themed updates.
That would indeed be a stupid move. One I don't think they'll make especially since most maps played by pro's in Quake 1,2 and 3 are all community made

That's because of the temple map and the brighter colors I suppose. But if you look at Doom's season pass maps I have no doubt that this won't be the case when all is done. Those guys still have it.

I mean, them doing that really shows they know what they're doing with this, I actually don't want another Quake 3, I've sunken thousands of hours on that game, I want something on that vibe but different, and it seems like it's what we're getting.
It was born out of the desire to do something new with Quake Live and made by the same team. Also yes, they invited the pro players. I spoke to some of them and you know what they said to id? Put more champions in the game. It's not a MOBA at all or very similar to Overwatch. It's pure hardcore Quake. But....the champions are designed to compliment play styles, not to be heroes. So with Ranger you can teleport (like with UT's locator) and Anarki is faster but has lower armor. The basics are the same for everyone, including the weapons (picks ups and map domination baby), it just has some more tactical depth depending on which champion you choose.

If you would have expressed concerns about the Champions and whether or not it goes the MOBA route I could have understand that. But if you purely look at what they've showed so far, it lives and breathes Quake. Especially the last part of the video below. If that's not Quake I don't know what it is. It's even plays in a Campgrounds remake for crying out loud

Alien 4 was by all accounts a terrible movie (I tried to watch it again last year). But, the underwater stuff was fucking amazing!
