Good looking stuff being posted here!
I'm currently trying the textures I posted in the 2D section ingame, keeping on producing more of them. Rebuilding good old q3dm6 for the fun of it.

What really makes me sad is that this game is apparently giving QuakeLive the final shot seeing the competetive community seems to move over to it.

First League of Legends and now this.

More texture work! I'm making these for an upcoming q3 capture the flag map. Any input is welcome.

Prolly using some random mouse on 125Hz.

What about the game though; it really seems like there is only one weapon. That is kind of making me sad.
Edit: Looking at their website, apparently there is some kind of hitscan weapon too. Also there is a shot of the editor on there. I will wait and see, I guess.
I signed up for their BETA - not sure what the criteria is to get accepted..

Edit2 - Some more footage:

I made this map for the spring 20 brush contest over at Quake3World where it came 2nd Place. Unfortunately, there was not much interest in the results of the contest - the voting poll found only 12 participants. It was fun whatsoever and I hope there will be more entries next time.
The map itself is nothing world changing but maybe someone will find some joy in playing it or get inspired.

I spent around 3 days on making the level, this includes making the textures and developing the layout.
QuoteMode: 1vs1 Tourney, 3 Players FFA
The map is a small two atrium duel arena with a lot of focus on vertical gameplay. It works great with VQ3 but is supposed to be played with CPM. On the map you can find all weapons (minus the BFG) and one Yellow Armor, a Red Armor and a Mega Health as the major items.
For the theme, I just wanted to keep it bright and make the whole level emit a rather positive and light atmosphere.
Please, no comments on the filesize; it just happened.

Looks good; not sure if you are looking for suggestions but on the red side you have that small crane/lift, how about having a simular element on the blue side? I think it would help filling up that area with detail. Maybe you could even turn the free space below the yellow railing into some storage platform.
I'm curious to see what you will come up with. On a side note, I'm a huge fan of the per base setting/theme used in many TF2 maps.

To me it seems a bit like Tribes Ascend. I'm not sure if I would play this game; I guess it depends on the competetive potential.
Edit: Also I hope they are gonna have more "weapons" than what can be seen in the video because I can't really imagine any kind of deep gameplay with an armory this limited. *shrug*

Not sure if I really wanna bump this but redistributing these textures is illegal as far as I know.

Been working on a simple concrete wall texture. This is the first time I am using my penpad to make a texture; I'd be happy about any advice or hints.

I started off with this reference photo.

Kingdom Hearts II
[Blocked Image: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/ed/Kingdom_Hearts_II_(PS2).jpg]
After having played this game when I was younger I decided to go back to it once more. I gotta say I still enjoyed it as much as when I first played it if not more. For me this is one of the best PS2 games out there (provided you played the first one).
With this game series Square Enix took a bunch of Disney Stories and put them into one fun and addictive storyline. The gameplay and the game in general could be compared to the Final Fantasy series; the leveling and ability system is rather simular while the fighting is entirely dynamic and more fun (IMO; note that I have not played all FF games, only the older ones).
All in all I spent around 60 hours on this game which is quite a lot looking at other titles coming out these days. If you still have a PS2 laying around I defenitely recommend you to give KH1 and KH2 a try.

Just wanna give this a small bump.
Quake 3 maps are entirely brush based and GTKradiant is very easy to learn and use, so try and give it a shot even if you never made a level for this game before.

For the fourth time, MaverickServers is hosting a Quake 3 level design competition. Mappers from the community are encouraged to participate; veteran mappers and those looking to get into mapping are welcome to join in on the fun. Prizes will be awarded to the best maps.
The contest will start on June 2nd and run for 10 weeks until August 11th. Judging will occur for 1 week after. Registration deadline is 3 weeks after the start date on June 23rd.

Nice work gentlemen!

Hey ShadoW!

Thanks to you guys for the input.

Fluorescent is a Quake III Arena 4vs4 capture the flag map featuring a bright and intense theme. I intended it to form a contrast to the theme you might expect from a quake 3 map. The making of the map lasted 10 weeks; including gameplay testing, creating the textures and getting the architecture right.

PS:
I'm new to this site so I should maybe introduce myself a bit.
I'm a student from germany who got into quake 3 level editing back in late 2009. Check out my website for past projects!
