Ok so I have been doing these tutorials, thanks to csyver by the way. I don't know if anyone is familiar with these UDK tutorials or if you just learned yourselves but I am stuck. I have my basic ground level, turned on geometry mode and made sure I clicked the right layer that I wanted to extrude. It extruded but when I tried to bring the corners into each other to make it so the edges were more rounded off, it only gave me the option of moving that part up or down vertically instead of me just being able to make a 45 degree angle to change the shape of it. Basically, instead of having the 90 degree angle to move my corners it gave me a 45 degree angle when I clicked on the corner. I don't know if there was something already clicked on for that to happen or what. This post probably doesn't make any sense and I think I ended up confusing myself but if anyone has any tips of how to just get the main level to be reshaped instead of making basically a hill to walk up or down on that would help a lot thanks.

Thanks guys, yeah I went ahead and went with UDK. Since I'm practically brand new at this, the more tutorials, the better. I'll keep you guys updated on how well/shitty things end up

Well the shitty part comes out quick. All the tutorials I have seen are making a subtractive level and the only option I have is additive. I'm guessing for some reason they did away with this?

Quote from D3ads
I've always wanted to play a game where the USA is the enemy for a change in a fictional timeline... (World In Conflict/Homefront flipped around). I've yet to see a single-player game do this.. it would be refreshing to shoot US marines or rangers for once. I don't have anything against the US military or anything (apart from some major fuckup operations..) but I just think it's about time someone went there. Sure the Daily Mail and Fox would cry blood like they always do.. but no one ever gives a shit about that anyway.
Project Reality is probably the closest thing out there right now to become an insurgent and play against the Americans. It's fun to switch over from time to time just because it gives you a different perspective. Check it out. http://%7boption%7d

Are all of these download-able?

I've recently decided to try modding and I wanted a program that would be really easy for me to start off with. I know there's plenty out there but I'm hoping to find one that I can take on and learn the basics with first. Any suggestions?
