So for the uninitiated, why is a cover system such a horrendous addition to Max Payne?

Thanks for the mouse, my ipod, the Pixar movies I watch with my family, and the Apple II that helped carry the game industry threw the slump in the 80's and kick started the careers of some of this industry's greatest developers.
I have so much respect for any person who loves their work, they do it right up until they just can't anymore.

":1bbdpsd5]Lmao, true. The Legion were awesome, it's fun to kill them tho, cos they're really hard.
I had a fetch quest that wanted me to go to the legion stronghold, and I thought "well I'm vilified, but maybe some guard will stop me and I'll know I cant do this quest..."
Nope, shot at as soon I entered the gate, so I shot back and continued to wipe out everyone including Caesar at level 19. The game didn't end automatically at that point, but it did for me, with Caesar dead the rest of the story really didn't make sense.

If by that you mean that the series features a bigger story arc in favor of more standalone episode arcs, then yes, it's more like a long film.
And it's fucking brilliant

Just saw they added this to Netflix streaming, been waiting since I caught the premier of season 3 to watch this show, crazy excited.

[Blocked Image: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6c/Alpha_Protocol_cover.jpg]I can't be the only one who'll give it a shot for the price of 2 euros (Steam)?

Yup, I figured it has to provide at least as much amusement as an 8oz can of Red Bull, which costs 40 cents more.

I have a door desk as well, though I put a mahogany veneer over it to make it look all executive and shit.

To be honest the city is largely irrelevant, no definition of noir says it has to feature New York or even night-time. It's all about the atmosphere, and while a snowy New York was absolutely wonderful that doesn't mean somewhere like a dreary Brazil couldn't be a similarly perfect fit as long it's executed right. And there's noone who's more likely to accomplish that except perhaps Remedy themselves. The trailer doesn't exactly fill me with complete assurance, but it doesn't fill me with dread either. They certainly capture the noir characteristics in quite a bit of the trailer, and while a lot of it shows action it's far from the first trailer to miss the mark by not showing enough of the story.
The most striking thing for me is that the bright, sunny look has been completely toned down and even the brightest of daytime scenes have a cloudy, overcast sky. While I'm sure there'll still be some bright areas to drive home the fact that it's Brazil, I'm guessing a lot of the game will feature an overall look closer to the original games (Max Payne's outdoor areas often weren't actually that dark due to the snow and bright lighting).
Actually Noire is an LA thing, so Sau Paulo should fit the bill just as well if not better than New York
-
The EDGE article said the game flashes back to what happened in New York, so there will be old fat Max in Sao Paulo, and Max with hair in New York.
Personally I'm excited about the Sao Paulo location, but I don't have deep connection to the original games.

Ironically, nearly every product we use in the modern world is made with petroleum. Which is why we're so fucked in 20 years lol. Maybe Woody Harrelson was right, we gotta start using hemp to build airplanes n shit
including the plastics used in our console/computers and dvd/blu-ray discs! The oil industry shouldn't be complaining.

The Planet of the Apes one is awesome!

Allright then...

It's just the Friends & Family Beta, not the public one yet.

Got the Pen and Touch (refurbed) last night. Seems pretty solid, though the touch is a little finicky though, but that's not what I bought it for.
Unfortunately, none of the applications I use make full use of it.

I havent gotten to the second boss yet, but I beat the first boss by
Quotethrowing canisters of gas and barrels of explosives. I only had to do that pattern about 3 times and he was done. All I had was the stun gun and tranq rifle, was under the assumption the second boss would have the same sort of thing, hopefully he does, cause otherwise I'm screwed.
