I would really like to get the art book and making of DVD that comes in the collectors edition but $150 for those two things and a plastic dragon (which I don't care for) ain't worth it.

Just a slight nitpick though, the stone in the top, left hand corner, that light brown dirt is a bit too contrastive with the darker tones behind it. It stands out a touch too much me thinks, but I'm just being overly nitpickeryish, keep on keeping on!

Yeah, no lag in terms of my machine, servers on the other hand do tend to lag a bit at times.

I don't know about the rest of you who live in the states but, personally,

I think this game is... well, F*CKING AMAAAAAZING!

The sound is absolutely incredible, it's huge and awesome and I love it. Visuals, animation, fx, sound, etc all combine with killer gameplay mechanics to make a truly enjoyable experience. Aside from the lame server lag I seem to be experiencing, money well spent. Going to be play this for hours on end in the coming weeks (months hopefully.)

Also really appreciate the little stuff Dice did for the PC release like custom FOV

After downloading 13gb from D2D, Origin needs to update before I install BF3. It almost finishes installing said update when it gives me some bullshit error. I abort the install, start up origin, what's that? A file's missing?!? You can't start with out it?!? Awesome, time to install origin from scratch. Oh... of course... the same error from the update, very nice. Origin gets completely uninstalled then reinstalled, it can finally boot up, same update is downloaded and installation is started... Duhhh, gee, who wuddathunkit, the same error occurs herp derp Im origin and cant install of nothing cuz im a stupid piece of shit.

Took me like 20 minutes to update this heap of garbage correctly.

... Any who, only played 10 minutes of the actual game as by now it was 4:30am and I needed some sleep. Was a cool 10 minutes though.

If you want to plan out your map by drawing it out for quick ideas, by all means. There's no hard set rules when it comes to just about anything in game development. Everyone has their pipelines they're comfortable with for their own reasons. It's going to take some experimenting to figure out which pipelines you like and what situations they can come in handy.

I'm not sure if UDK or CE3 supports modo but even if they do, you're better off just using 3dsmax or maya for now as that's what most companies use. Id hasn't released an sdk of any kind for idtech 5 anyways so why bother when you can't even test the engine you want to make a map in. The easy part is learning the software, once you get around the UI and the key differences between programs, they're all essentially the same thing.
