Did you actually get anywhere with this? It sounds like something I would be interesting in helping out with once my schedule allows.

There are a lot of gui libraries for ogre but a lot would be too bloated for your application. If I remember there was something called beta gui that was literally one .h and one .cpp file which could be a simpler solution for what you need.

Ogre would be a good idea indeed you could have something similar to what you need in a couple of days if not less.

Seems as if the rumors about credit cards being stolen are false assuming this is true.

Personally I would go for a well used look. The outside would obviously have some damage done to it but the inside would be up to scratch and clean (well within reason).
-
Yeah unless it is a mirrored model just change the inside of the window frame. Although I might tone it down a little on the outside.
-
Yeah being able to choose the size of the buttons would be awesome.
With the cartoon character it doesn't look like the smoothing is set-up properly. Also the face looks a little dodgy (although I can't figure out what because of my lack of knowledge in this area).

I would remove the background image. It doesn't tile well (I suppose not many people will see this). But it doesn't look great and has some artifacts and bad banding.
Just set the background to a slightly darker grey. This will also help seperate the resume page.
Edit: Right I had a second look at the content.
The ui mod for max is usefull but have you thought about changing the look of the buttons and making them smaller? Or is there an option for this?
Both the high-poly car and the 3d low poly city suffer from a bad render set-up.
The cartoon character is the worse piece on there. (The rig looks fine maybe don't mention that you made the model?)
The matte paiting also look kinda meh some of the 3d pieces don't seem to blend well. The floor also looks odd.
The rest is fine.

Who the hell at id thought that would be a good screenshot to release.

Take the width of the dirt road as 1 unit and measure everything in-regards to that.

Downloaded the demo on the pc and so far after 1 single player playthrough and 1 hour trying to get a multiplayer game I have two complaints.
1.) Voice chat by default is soo annoying as people seem to have shitty mics.
2.) Host migration please. I sit in a loby listening to random sounds through peoples mics only to have the lobby close at 1 sec to launch.

Apparently it is the pc version just being played with a xbox controller. It apparently crashed to the win7 desktop when it was being shown to ign.
-
Just make sure the highpoly has no 90 degree angles (these won't bake properly).
-
Did they just think people wouldn't notice the terrible network-prediction for the vehicles.
The other gameplay look'd good though.

Write games not engines.
Also the udk editor itself isn't moddable so you won't be able to add the snapping features your self. You might be able to do it in-game using unreal script then write a module to export the map file, although I am guessing that is beyond the programming skills of like 90% of people who use this forum. Plus it would be easier to send a request email.

Created one of this new fancy twitter accounts thing.
Probably will end up neglecting it.

yaaay, valve updated HAMMER... and once again break it along the way...jeez, how many days will I loose now because of this fuckup (or weeks)...
this is what I have to work with..?
Add -dx80 to the launch options and it should fix the problem. It seems as they broke the direct 9 version of the viewports.
