Didn't like it as much. It has the same basic hero-saving-the-world plot like the last Marvel movies. I've just seen too many similar movies now, it's wearing very thin.
The humor was kind of cheap and the whole movie is predictable, I expected more. The ship designs were really cool though (except for the Kree) but the character designs on the other hand were pretty lame imo.
I won't be able to recall what happened in the movie in a week, much like I don't remember what happened in the last 2 Thor movies 'n shit
It's an OK movie I guess, meh.Quote1) That red tattoo guy has a spaceship crash into him and yet he still survives... How? Imo there's lots of tiny things like this in the movie that make it feel very sloppy and inconsistent.

Agreed! That's some fine pixel art!

At first I was like: "Oh yeah! I gotta check that out!"
But... At the end of the day these are just normal people and we're intruding on their privacy. It's not cool to post this imo. At least most (?) of the pictures in the EOT thread are from models so they know what they're signing up for but this... c'mon.
I hope I don't sound like a hypocrite here but yeah... not cool imo.

Sweet dude, good progress! It's a bit random at times but you'll get the hang of it eventually!

One thing I love seeing is that you think of the areas you build, always think of environmental storytelling!
Sorry for not giving more in depth feedback but my advice is to keep building stuff like this for a bit till you feel confident with the tools and then create some gameplay! Right now you're mostly doing level art stuff but little design work, design is all about creating gameplay and iterating on it, you'll have to change stuff over and over till it works and has all your requirements so pick a game mode or prototype something yourself!
The advice with the gameplay stuff is exactly the same as what Chris said, don't get stuck programming your own stuff or inventing your own game, just mod something existing to learn faster. Once you know what you're doing you can create and prototype your own stuff. Nothing's stopping you from doing that right away though but it'll be a little bit slower (but maybe more rewarding?). Just piggyback on existing projects, there's quite a couple for Unreal 4 atm!
You're definitely on the right track, this is how you're supposed to do game stuff! (Not write a 10 page document of an MMO you're gonna make with 2 people, that's also procedural. Oh god I'm so bitter after reading the project proposals on the Unreal 4 forum. lawl)

Yay!
I'm mostly interested in creating systems through Blueprint. Gonna look into procedural content, emergent gameplay, etc. Game systems pretty much. Sure the engine looks good but for me Blueprint is the game changer! I've been trying out stuff in Unity but got stuck with some complicated behaviors and movement that require extensive math knowledge... Hopefully this'll mitigate that somewhat!

The Zero Theorem.
Pretty weird/interesting, not sure I can tell more about it
It's a nice experience and the visuals are kinda fascinating! Enjoyed it more than Brazil, Brazil was just a bit TOO weird. -
Sorry if this is the wrong thread but I don't fully understand the subscription thing yet. If I subscribe now, get Unreal 4.4. Stop subscribing and in 5 months I subscribe again for one month, do I get all the changes in between version 4.4 and whatever version we'll have at that time? Free of cost? How does porting go, will my project be compatible or will "hopping" over a whole set of updates make that difficult?

Resolution > FPS > Any graphical setting.
That's it for me when I'm gaming on my laptop that can't run every new game. I absolutely hate gaming on any resolution that's not native since it makes everything look blurry. After that I turn down AA, AO, usually medium shadows quality and then go from there to get a good framerate. So graphics are usually inferior to me but you'll have a hard time convincing me not to play on a native resolution... Definitely when I'm only sitting 3m from my big-ass TV.
Rolling101 For me a PS4 gives me exactly the same as an Xbone but with a crisp image rather than a blurry one... I'm sure there's differences in services and whatnot but that's not a factor for me since I only play games on them. So why exactly would I prefer an inferior image quality that doesn't sacrifice FPS or anything? I don't think that's lame at all... I really don't understand your statement
I could understand if there's a trade-off but there's no catch... -
Nice. Didn't know the first post gets updated sometimes without people replying to this topic
Unless I missed that as well ofc. -

On the one hand you'll get some more AAA experience which could be a stepping stone to better work but don't take a pay cut for it imo...
You should be able to negotiate this, if they really want you they'll try to match it. Did they come with an offer for you or did you come to them?
The Division has also been struggling so I'm not sure it'll be that fulfilling to work on but maybe they fixed the kinks in their team... Hearsay isn't the most reliable and lots of projects deal with issues during the start of development, definitely for new IP´s.
Also if it's not the Swedish studio we're talking about then I'm not sure it's such a good idea. You'll want to be at the head office. If it is then maaaaaybe cos there's a lot of developers in Sweden (Stockholm) although not Malmö where they're located.

In short nothing changes. The Sims has always been the number 1 DLC game, in fact they might even have made the whole concept mainstream? At least it's the first game I can remember that had this many "expansion" packs.
Sims 2:
Expansion packs:
- University
- Night Life
- Open for business
- Pets
- Seasons
- Bon Voyage
- FreeTime
- Apartment Life
Content packs:
- Holiday Party Pack
- Family Fun Stuff
- Glamour Life Stuff
- Happy Holiday Stuff
- Celebration! Stuff
- H&M Fashion Stuff
- Teen Style Stuff
- Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff
- IKEA Home Stuff
- Mansion & Garden Stuff

Played it at 1m per 10 seconds. Scary as fuck.
QuoteLost it when that ghost closed the door. I was trying to trigger shit and it felt so random, out of nowhere. The scare at the door where she kills you didn't do as much though.

And another one falls to depression
Really sad news! -

Gold. Rest of the movie is kinda meh though but the intro is really enjoyable in a ridiculous way xD

Quote from Puddy
I haven't seen it but me and my sister talked, and laughed, about how it feels like a sci-fi writer pulled this wonky sci-fi premise out of his/her ass under the false assumption that it would be "fascinating" or some shit.

Pretty much
It also feels like the author designed this universe (or plot) from the bottom-up. It's kinda obvious that he/she came up with some "cool" ideas and then tried to shoehorn them in or made everything else adapt to those things rather than building something believable and seeing what you can do with that kind of universe. "Aw yeah, Harry potter sorting hat. Cool, I gotta have that. Hunger games is kinda cool, I'll use some of that stuff. Add a heroine that is struggling with some trials. Dayum, so much depth. I'll piece it together and BAM... masterpiece."It's stuff you have to deal with a lot in level design when you have conflicting design ideas. For instance when someone says you NEED to have this exact thing happen in the level but you're struggling to make sense of it cos it doesn't fit in whatsoever although you admit that in itself it's quite a cool sequence. So you end up building everything around it to make sense of it and in the end it makes the whole thing worse cos you're scrapping or alternating your intro and outro sequences too much. I think he/she fell in love with some of the ideas/concepts but just isn't a strong enough writer to look at the big picture and glue it together or make sense of it... Basically not good at killing his/her darlings for the good of the whole.
/More rant xD I kinda wanna discuss bottom-up versus top-down design in video game design with you people now

I mostly come on here to recommend movies but sorry guys, I just really have to rant for a bit:
Divergent 2/10
Easily the most nonsensical piece of shit movie I've seen in a long while. It's impossible to suspend your disbelief, 90% of the movie is impossible to buy unless you have an IQ of 90 and don't question anything cos this concept falls apart if you start thinking about... well, pretty much anything.
The world building and the way society is represented, even just human nature and shit is depicted in a completely unbelievable way, I can't remember how many times I eye-rolled at this movie/concept. It's so bad that the plot doesn't even matter anymore at this point.
No seriously, it's an absolutely idiotic and ridiculous premise... And once you're at that stage any possibility of immersion is impossible.
"Oh you're over thinking it". No, it's really not one of those movies where you find holes once you dig into it. The issues are laying right on the surface, it's impossible to miss unless you shut off your entire brain. Don't get me wrong, I usually can enjoy a B movie or a movie like Transformers but this is just in an entirely different league of cringe...
The good: Shailene Woodley does some pretty good acting and there's a couple of cool scenes but besides that the movie just doesn't hold up.
