The Vietnam levels are fucking annoying. I didn't know what to do half the time..

I played up to after the first level of Vietnam level last night, and found them hilarious. The way everything goes to hell right as Mason arrives on the scene, and the ridiculous weapons I was finding like the "China lake" grenade launcher, the "Big ammo" machine gun (what does that even mean??) and the AK with the flamethrower attachment. I was on codeine (baby's first morphine) at the time however as I had my wisdom teeth out yesterday morning though so take my opinion on CODBLOPS with a grain of drugged up salt.

":2hb1b9lm]It's gonna be dificult for us living in germany to find the uncesored version tho! :Xhttp://gamerant.com/call-of-duty-black- ... pen-49626/

I really don't want to fire up utorrent for this, I havent downloaded a game for years now! I am willing to pay for this game, but not for a chopped version! I mean:

    • A scene where an enemy is shot in slow motion with copious amounts of gore has been toned down for the German release.• A torture scene involving a prisoner has been completely eliminated from the German version.

    • The song “Sympathy for the Devil”, made famous by the Rolling Stones, has been removed.

    • No explosions that lead to limb loss.

    • Removal of what Germany deems ‘anti-constitutional symbols’.

Lol, whats the sympathy for the devil thing about? Does Germany think the stones were really singing about Hitler or something?

I picked the game up myself, and holy crap the second level, a prison break, is fucking awesome. Totally goddamn sweet, and it has pretty much all the big gameplay set-pieces that stood out from MW2 in it. Blowing stuff up, killing tons of dudes, shooting people while riding a vehicle, etc.

I wonder if you could turn the Kinect into an affordable way to generate mocaps for character animations.

It's impressive what they've done on the iPhone, that looks better than Carmack's iPhone Rage version.

All it needs now is some shooting.

Someone's making an Sauerbraten version of Minecraft (for mac, because obv. that's where all the fps fans are) on the minecraft forums.

I'm really enjoying the halloween update. I think I'm set for content until Notch updates again, I'm not exactly pining for more stuff. Right now I'm trying to conquer the Nether.

(the game's on peaceful, I'll build a glass wall around the trees before turning monsters back on )

My problem with Minecraft is that the world feels lifeless and secure. Sure, there are some moronic zombies at night but they are only a problem during the first night really.

I really wish the game had random events and encounters, such as changes in weather, merchants passing by or natural disasters a-la Sim City. It would rule to see a tornado coming in the distance and destroying your lil realm while you sit back and enjoy the beauty of the scene :derp:

I once again cite Animal Crossing as an example of what I mean. That game rules so much because of the random events that make each game feel unique. It owns to start the game in the morning and see that everyone in your village is a little depressed because the weather is rainy or meet some random NPC who's passing by that day.

Sounds like you need to explore more. You won't find a wandering merchant or a tornado, but you will find massive procedurally generated caves full of danger, different environments thanks to biomes, and the resources to mount an expedition into the Nether, a hell dimension that lets you, at risk, fast travel at an 8:1 ratio by traveling across it and then constructing an exit gate back to the real world.

Played a couple rounds of "arcade mode". Seems decently fun, though the game sorely lacks in weapon feedback: If you hit somebody with a weapon that doesn't outright kill them, like a body shot with one of the guns, it's extremely difficult to tell if you even hit. There's no visible blood, no reaction animation from the target, and no "hit" noise like in TF2. The bots also seem to be incapable of fulfilling their needs, as halfway through the round they're all slowed down, playing exhaustion animations. With just two rounds of experience I managed to triple the kills of the second place bot.

I'll play online multiplayer later, not in the mood to deal with other players tonight.

Somebody gave me a discount key for the ubisoft store so I just got the game on PC for $2.50. Only after purchasing I found the game's activated on Steam, lol. The download on the Ubisoft store is just a pdf with instructions on how to install steam and activate the game.

My Steam name is JSLljk, anyone on Mapcore who wants to play add me on Steam

I went back and beat Singularity last night. It was kinda eh. It seemed like Raven had a really good idea for a game, extremely limited by demands and time limitations from Activision. The art stuff is fantastic, and the gameplay's ok, but it's so extremely on rails with no real opportunity for player expression, the weapon/player upgrade system seems like it didn't get any balance or attention to it, and the game's flow from beginning to end feels like it goes nowhere. Yet another "Hey, this Activision game sure could've used another six months, huh" game.

And those fucking ticks! [Blocked Image: https://migrationtest.mapcore.org/public/style_emoticons/default/mapcore_smilies/emot_shakehead.gif] Terrible. The second stretch of gameplay that had them in it lacks a weapon locker in front of it and I went in with a sniper rifle and grenade launcher. It took me goddamn forever to just barely manage to get by. It didn't help that the section's like half an hour long without save points, even though there are a ton of "Checkpoints" where you progress through a chokepoint and then a door slams shut behind you.

I should replay AoM: Director's Cut, it's been a while. You know, I actually did a partial let's play of it on Youtube, before I had heard that particular phrase.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M7GEu3MKPc

People seemed to like it but I reached a point a couple hours into the game where I had to swim through a sewer and every time I went underwater the view would turn completely black, and I couldn't figure out how to fix it, so I quit the videos.

Those character models look damn good for HL, roughly vampire bloodlines quality and style. I like it. Afraid of Monsters is pretty much my most favorite mod ever so I have high hopes for Cry of Fear.

Man, on the same day I find that the Afraid of Monsters guy(s) are making something new and it's apparently "almost ready to release", too. I always liked AoM more than They Hunger, but TH was still a really, really good mod. Shame we aren't going to get more from them.

Anyone taken on the Legendary Deathclaw yet? Tough SoB. P.S Brotherhood > everyone.

Killed him by just throwing Holy Hand Grenades around the corner into his lair. I COULD take it on probably with good luck for crits and using my best guns, but I figured if this wasn't a good enough usage of holy hand grenades there just isn't one in the entire game. I have to force myself not to fall into the old "Oh this weapon is powerful/this ammo's rare, I shouldn't use it unless I REALLY need to *finishes Doom with max BFG ammo*" habit.

Started Dragon Age: Origins. Got partially through the Mage intro, took off my clothes, and had a damn good laugh at the mankini my dude's wearing underneath his wizard robes, and then stopped for the night.

Minecraft has sucked me back in. So far Hell seems safer than normal world spelunking, with the increased enemy spawns in deep caves, while Hell has safe spots under low overhangs where the only default hostile spawn can't get to you. No water or pigs in hell though. Just lava and pig zombies.

Some serious sadness in this thread. When someones gotta lay down why Zelda or Mario is relevant, some shits wrong. Like, gamastura comments section shits wrong.

There's differences between relevant, innovative, and birthing a genre.

I would argue that Mario 64 and Zelda OoT are innovative. But not the firsts in their respective series.
