That's so not going to happen.

Barring the PC, of course, where you can run it at whatever res you want. MP1 and 2 (2 especially, they put a lot more texture detail in that game than was the standards for its time, and it really helps it hold up) still look fantastic imo.

Regardless of any discussion of theme I'm pretty sure I couldn't bear to accept a Max Payne with a camera skewed to the side instead of centered three feet above Max's head, and nobody makes third person shooters with centered cameras anymore, no matter what. It's just what third person shooters are, without question, these days, and that's really very sad. They're all imitating a game that chose that angle specifically to reduce player view radius, to make the game scary...

Especially for the shot of Psycho, the primary differences to me still just look like the effects of video compression. People really should wait for crytek to release actual screenshots rather than just a gametrailers vid if they want to make aspergers induced technical comparisons.

Look at basically any regiment that operates in Chechnya or was a part of the force in South Ossetia... that shit ain't tight, dawg I mean you've read it yourself; dog food! Also ... how big is Alpha? They're not even technically part of the Army! But yes, the russians are tidying up, but have some way to go before they're done. Their Izlom-camo shows they are on the right track... so sexy <333

Are you sure it's an Altyn btw? The maska comes in several variants and some look pretty much like the one you mentioned but are, as far as I know, far more common.

    Titanium helmetry ain't cheap lol

Dude on the left has his gun pointed at dude on the right, what poor discipline, no wonder the russians always lose

Went out and bought some rice pilaf, and then for dinner made 5.2LB of boneless pork loin baked/boiled in a porcelain pot in the oven, covered in jack daniels barbeque sauce and tariyaki, served with the rice. And some corn.

Got enough to feed the whole neighborhood.

Timesplitters was the real reason I hated on Halo. Not because I'm a PC fanboy; because I know that all that bullshit they laid at the feet of Halo 1 about making a good fps on consoles was done a year before, and way better, by Timesplitters.

I'm a plebian using one of these:

It suits my needs unless I feel like slouching, which takes me out of the good viewing area and screws up the picture.

Techland better be committed to patching this game. It's got such potential, but such issues, and people are already delving through the guts of the .pak files and fixing issues themselves, for example:

    http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... stcount=57

Someone's figured out how to enable analog combat controls with the mouse. Unfortunately using this workaround prevents me from being able to accept quests, but I can wander around and kill zombies with aimed swings just fine. There's also another setting out there to mute ingame voice (data/scripts/audio/audioproperties.scr, find "coop", turn the audio multiplier to 0).

Also DI turning way down the audio of every other source in windows whenever I start a game is annoying. There's not really all that much atmosphere here, audio-wise, what with it being a multiplayer game, so occasionally I want to listen to podcasts while playing.

Can studios not handle multiple projects any more? What makes you think porting Crysis 1 is going to require the entire (not small) building, or if it does for a length of time that'd result in other projects being permanently backburned?I'd rather Crytek UK handle it so the central Crytek team can work on, say, Crysis 3.

That's not the point. You announce something people don't find interesting, they're not going to be receptive to it. Pretty much everyone here played Crysis 1 to death three years ago, thus: this thread

    (srsly though rip timesplitters )

I never played the original games, only heard about how you could brainwash people, so I look forward to brainwashing people... in 3D

also lolled at the phrase "interface directly with the Dataverse. "

Why are people shitting on this? Is the elite pc crowd feeling their collective manhood being challenged by a four year old game becoming more accessible?

Because porting old games is inherently less exciting than working on new stuff (RIP Timesplitters 4), so of course people are going to jab at it.

I tend to roll my eyes at "This is real gameplay footage" notes in trailers, since it tends not to accompany such mind blowing footage to justify the need... here it totally is valid

Ugh, what. In coop the voice chat is always on with no configuration options, and disables Steam's internal voice chat? Way to make a third party application like teamspeak absolutely mandatory for multiplayer, Techland.

However four clones of a chinese spy lady all beating on one zombie together with broomsticks and canoe paddles was fun and reminiscent of Shaun of the Dead. Made me want to listen to some Queen.

Also: The XP scales TERRIBLY in this game. I exploited the prologue by hiding from the level 50 zombies where they couldn't easily reach me, and slowly kicked them to death. At level 1, killing a level 50 zombie, I didn't even get enough XP to reach level 2, only about 50% of my bar. Also they respawned when I returned to the T intersection of the hallway, but until I did that they stayed dead, which was actually kinda nice. I got some extra ~premium loots~ that you couldn't normally get without zombies owning you for stopping (it was completely average ass loots)

Annoying. I plunk down 5000 futurebucks to help an annoying person in china, and then the quest is finished, and I went back to the annoying person to give them the good news, and they've vanished from the face of the earth.
