I started playing BF again after a long break, I'm really liking the gun master game mode

I applied to join the Mapcore platoon, Skybar16.

It depends on the company, none of these positions are really officially defined anywhere. At Dice level artists do a lot of asset creation as well, but usually assets that will be unique for the level they're working on.

his name is Brutus & he's a freshwater pufferfish and lives in a skull

He's still really young and tiny so it was hard to get a good pic

    Nice! I miss our fish

NFS Hot Pursuit was made with Criterion's "Chameleon" engine. As far as I know that engine was only used on that game (the internet tells me it's based on what they used for Burnout).

I hope there will be a lot of papers/making of/behind the scene on the engine or of the game.I'm very curious.

There's some stuff here: http://%7boption%7d , mostly Siggraph stuff from Frostbite.

    Rick makes excellent coffee btw.

I just finished it, it took me about 20 minutes. I didn't think it was too dark, but I think I had the brightness bumped up.

I spent most of my time trying to figure out what happened when I activated stuff, light-strips would definitely help this map I think. I got what the symbols meant, it was just hard to see it sometimes. Also, it's nice to play something harder, I felt portal 2 never really got too difficult

I had totally forgotten we were hiring...

Btw, for some reason prop artists are called Technical Artists at Dice, figured I'd add this here, even though it's just temporary positions we're looking for.

    Technical Artist

EA Digital Illusions is looking for excellent Technical Artists to join our teams in Stockholm.

You will be working as a Technical Artist in one of our next-gen project teams with technically advanced 3d graphics. Primary responsibilities will be to compose and model the graphic part of the levels for current and future games at DICE. As an Artist at DICE you will work closely with other team members and with the Art Director of the team so if you have that experience it’s an advantage. DICE will give you the possibility to grow as an artist and eventually take more advanced working tasks and bigger responsibilities.

I won the Nano edition from work on Friday http://www.webhallen.com/spel/pc/112104 ... no_edition

Going to give it a try on my lunch break, my computer at home most likely wouldn't handle it Will I miss out horribly on the story if I haven't played the first one? I bought Crysis 1 and Warhead like a year ago on a Steam sale but I haven't gotten around to playing them yet...

Hmm I haven't seen the third one yet, but if it turns into just some love triangle drama with just the occasional zombie, it's going to be quite disappointing

Hopefully it gets to that first scene from the first episode soon, when he's on his own.

    Quite the list!

I made the cross Atlantic move once, from Canada to Sweden. I'd definitely recommend it if you're young and have no ties, it's certainly been a positive experience for me. Papperwork wise things were quite easy, the company handled pretty much everything. But if you're on a work related visa and the company goes bankrupt, it can be quite scary. I went for some interviews around Europe, but ended up staying in Sweden, luckily there's a few studios in the same city (Stockholm), where I'm from in Canada there wasn't anything at all for about 1000km in either direction...
