Just watched Aliens (the second). For the first time.

It was good. The first was a lot better.
i should watch them as well, but i've always put them off because of the startling horror element. i mean i don't mind shit like stalker that just fucking pumps you full of atmosphere, but damn i really hate the deep space kind of startling.

i've only ever played the fourth one, i could never seem to get a hold of the earlier versions... even though the gameplay seems really appealing to me.

why would i be? my forte is games, not films. maybe it's because i'm cinematically illiterate, but i can't seem to not enjoy a movie... or at least as long as its in a cinema.

haaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha

i don't, because i think i have a flawed perception of movies. i mean, pretty much every movie i've ever watched (saved for pixar's stuff) has been rated by me as "pretty good". i can't remember the last time i was thinking, "wow this movie sucks"...

it was better than up. i don't understand the fascination people have with disney movies. it seems like as soon as something is animated by pixar people think it's good... almost like games by blizzard (see what i did there)

But the vast majority of the player base will go for cookie cutter builds, and those that don’t are mainly going to be newbies who ruin their character for thinking their caster should invest in energy. Even oddball builds like Poisonmancer were pretty defined if you wanted to do any real business with them. And then Blizzard have the dilemma that, because everyone has locked themselves into a strong build, they have limited scope for actually changing what’s strong without pissing everyone off (something Blizzard seems to traditionally solve with insane exponential power increases).
The new system allows for a lot more creativity; much more than attributes and skill trees and I mean that sincerely. You can experiment without writing-off a character, all players are encouraged to play with all their characters skills even if they got some cookie-cutter guide, and it allows Blizzard to balance things without the risk of destroying characters. My only worry about this system is the ease of changing skills will mean there will be an ‘expected’ build in public games, where randoms demand you rock a FotM build because it’s so easy to switch into it, especially if it’s party-boosting.
The interface for the new skill system is undeniably very bad, though; I don’t need an almost full-screen panel for binding six abilities, which is easily evidenced by the vastly superior interface used for most of beta. And the fact you can’t even mix skills of the same type without unlocking it in a menu seems to rather... insulting? I don’t know if that’s the right word.
from what i've seen, i think arena net handled this better still having attributes that the users could modify, but they were also able to reset them throughout the game. cutting people off from experimenting definitely limits the amount of time people will spend on it. and not making people earn skills is just a let down. whoever said that we don't appreciate what is easily gained was right, and blizzard definitely made the game too user friendly in that regard. maybe it works in the same sense it worked for them for world of warcraft, but it does nothing for me in the way that i could experiment with skill builds in diablo 2 and guild wars. the final nail in the diablo coffin is definitely getting hammered in, albeit slowly.

I'm playing a witch doctor and my mana won't stop regenerating. I'm trying to be all conscious of my resources and shit but it doesn't seem to matter. And are runes just a level 2 of your current spell but you have to wait 90 levels before you get that verison, or something. Also I have a dagger as my primary weapon but I don't use weapons now because I don't have a regular attack and I'm told by people I've been playing Diablo wrong since forever by using regular attacks. why do I have a primary weapon then. I'm sure I haven't played enough or some shit but whatever there's a lot to this game that doesn't make sense to me. Like why do I have to accept a skill binding when selecting it in the skill screen why can't I just click once. Or did it take 12 years just to animate all those collapsing shelves.
lol, basically what i expected to hear from people

":1o8pxnc0]PC gamers can really be the most... annoying people on earth! I know this first hand, but witnessing it again with Diablo3 launch is really... sigh.People giving it a Metacritic of 0/10 because the servers are failing, it reminds me when gamers gave a 0/10 to Mass Effect 3 because the ending is bad, and even voted EA the WORST company in the USA because of it, WTF! Bunch of pesky winners.
Complaining is one thing, winning it out to another level is another -- Why all the hate? It’s obvious the servers will be very on and off for the first couple of days, few days even, I knew this was going to happen it’s literally millions of people trying to connect.
Just play Max Payne 3 first, then come back to Diablo 3, like I’ll do!

while i do agree with you that people are being dicks for whining like this, i'm also of the opinion that blizzard could have handled this a lot better. i mean offline mode would have solved a lot of these issues.
either way, i'm awaiting reviews before getting this game.
