i gotta agree with buddy here.

the main problem is combat fatigue. it's the same reason i can't play halo or killzone or them other shooters. it's too repetitive, because the pacing is always focused on combat. some people like that, but one of the things that made half life great was that its pacing switched between puzzles and combat. it's the balance between the two that makes for a game that i can sit for hours and play, whereas neither of the two alone are fun when prolonged.

pacing is one of the most important aspects of design, and it seems very few people in the industry actually focus on it.

really cool, nice to see something "AAA" done in unity, even if it is only a target practice thing. definitely interested in helping them more with their kickstarter now

so i didn't play the game, but i read a gamasutra article about the story, which sounds super cool. i'm tempted to pick it up and play it completely different from how it is "supposed to be played", but i doubt there is actually another route...

another thing i vague remember from the original siege - in the later versions you only had to bring the hostages out to the first open area, not the entire way to ct spawn. it already feels like a really long way to get the hostages from, i think some thought into perhaps making them more accessible would be in order

i wasn't saying it was more power, i just said it cut power consumption by 50% (thereby also overheating less etc.)

the Ti is good because it halves the power consumption

^ 660 ti is probably the best card you can get. might be in the upper end of your price range, but it'll last for a while...

i've been against 3d tvs because i thought they were gimmicky, but this thing may actually be the real deal. while i think this may still be a prototypical version, it's definitely going in the right direction. maybe in a few years we'll have these things replace monitors... coupled with peregrine like interfaces for keyboard/mouse we might not need any periphials for the pc anymore. which would be really cool. but i'll admit the future may not be as close to or as idealistic as that.

lol @ nordic types thinking every criticism is rage

ive never disliked a movie before. like ever. i thought prometheus was good shit when everyone else thought it was shit. so dont give me that, skjalg. i didnt hate it, it was just unnecessary. it was probably the best part of the movie because it accentuated how ridiculous skyfall is. and it was funny. in stark contrast to the rest of the movie. which was not funny.

the irony here is that you're raging over me not liking a movie... get over yourself

hope it's the ti version, got the same. kepler in general is fucking boss, but this card really takes the cake in terms of how balanced its power consumption is vs its raw processing power.

i saw it because everyone was all over it. i didn't get it, it was extremely long and most of the stuff didn't really make any sense towards the end.

what happened to the goddamn list? why not kill the goddamn lady and be over with it, it was obvious the villain would just kill himself after finishing her off, and she was such a goddamn annoying cunt. 2 moments especially pissed me off/made me laugh

the fucking lady in the beginning asks to take the shot, THROUGH ANOTHER PERSON. nobody would do that, it was extremely unrealistic and ridiculous. i thought james bond would be more serious than ren and stimpy. MY BAD

2: the fucking exploding canister IN A HOUSE ON THE GROUND KILLS a fucking helicopter pilot who then leans on the steering apparatus to crash into the house again. it had no place in the movie and just served as an extra explosion. i laughed hard and everyone looked at me like i was crazy.

BONUS: DESTROYING STUFF FOR NO REASON ISNT COOL

I will say Javier can act though, he's probably the only reason i didn't leave the theater at that point.

it's 6 stories interwoven into each other basically... in different eras. from what i know it's one around the 1400s, then 1930s, 1970s, near future, far future.

if you only had 10 meshes to work with i would personally have suggested smaller more modular assets in an environment that would allow that. i think the reason the environment is looking bland right now is because you focused too much on a concept that didnt allow for using only 10 meshes. also, what seir said about houses on stilts are usually not so heavily built

just to be clear, we're talking level design here and not 3d artistry?

the reason i ask is because all i see here is a scene that would look good with assets. Did you make any design thoughts about this at all? What is this space going to be used for?
