[...]Star Wars is targeted for release in 2015, with more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga and grow the franchise well into the future.

Indeed, maybe this is a good thing.

I mean, this link speaks for itself... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucasfilm#Filmography

What difference does it make? Lucasfilm was just making the same shit all over again anyway... now it's gonna be the same shit under a different company.

Yeah, hopefully this will turn out well, getting somebody that also has a vision and a voice of their own (that isn't the voice of JarJar), and somebody that understands what made the old movies great.

It could turn out to be a very good thing for Star Wars. Just a bit worried about the games side of things, sounds like they want to do social, free to play stuff more than console/PC titles.

when they first announced episode one, i hoped really hard that lucas would acknowledge that the core star wars audience was all grown up and would target the new movies accordingly, make them darker, hire interesting directors, etc..

    this was stupid of me.

i have no interest in this.

I still hope to see a true & new Jedi Knight sequel, but not like that other shitty game with a billion quick time events. However this is LucasFilm, which correct me if I'm wrong, has nothing to do with the games division?

lucasfilm is the parent company of lucasarts.

let's hope they create a new star wars galaxies that uses NGE but has worse graphics and more rubberbanding. maybe they can invent a new form of cancer while they're at it. *crosses fingers*

So jerry bruckheimer & johnny depp will be involved in episode 7 then?

Disney use script writers though, so all of this might be a good thing for the whored out Star wars franchise.

It makes a lot of sense imo. Let's face it Star Wars is a franchise for kids nowadays and has been for years. My little nephews utterly love everything Star Wars: movies, cartoons, toys, video games. The name Disney is the first thing that comes to mind when i think of entertainment for kids. It's a perfect fit.
