was he the one with the brother as a bishop or other high ranking religious minister? if so, i have mixed feelings about this...

also, the way that that many official died at the same time smells like a conspiracy theorist's wet dream

Since the beginning of agriculture and land seizure actually, if one wants to believe Daniel Quinn. Which really does explain a lot.

and even then, it's not just been us. look the the relationship between animal species, especially primates. don't you think if we were supposed to not have wars/conflicts, we wouldn't have them in the first place? things don't just mysteriously appear out of nowhere, and neither does conflict.

Of course, I don't deny that. However violence is not a natural, instinct-driven imperative like the sex drive for example. Violence can be avoided, conflicts can be resolved otherwise.

they can, but at a loss of stimuli and an increase of frustration. i'm not saying you can't avert conflict in a peaceful manner, i'm just saying we weren't built for that. we also take much more energy and conscious thinking to resolve a conflict in a non-violent manner than a violent. so yes, it is in our nature. we want the stimuli. we want violence.

and we've had conflict before agriculture.

That doesn't mean that violence, and war with all the suffering and damage it creates in particular, is a part of human nature.

how is it not part of our nature? look at our history, we've had war since the beginning of time; and even then, it's not just been us. look the the relationship between animal species, especially primates. don't you think if we were supposed to not have wars/conflicts, we wouldn't have them in the first place? things don't just mysteriously appear out of nowhere, and neither does conflict.

That is a subaverage intellectual statement, something I wouldn't expect from you, Sentura :/

i don't care what you think about the statement, because it's the sad truth. people want war (albeit perhaps in a more tribal way), the same way people want to argue or create challanges, for the same reasons. the reason we're still seeing so much war, hatred, etc. is because it is in our nature, and it is how we cope with how mundane and trivial our lives have become.

Heh people say Photoshop runs a lot better on Mac than on Windows... still the brush stokes in that video seem pretty slow to me. I wonder how slow this will be on windows.

i would disregard that as rumors honestly. i don't think they actually made photoshop more memory friendly on mac, just because it's a mac.

This is a special section of the site dedicated to the A-Z of Awesomeness, a project I undertook for 'fun' in June-July 2009.Each day I would post a new drawing, based on suggestions from followers of my blog, Facebook and Twitter. 26 drawings over 26 days, one for each letter of the alphabet.

There were no rules as to what people could suggest, merely that it be... Awesome.

You say that like that makes it okay. I think the whole idea here is that this very thing is not

but why not? this is what we were designed for. life is a constant battle, and i'm sure you've had disputes with different people. peaceful times brings frustration to people, war lets them loose. i am, however, not okaying the entire iraq conflict over this though. personally i think it (as well as anything else the US has put their military eye on recently) is unnecessary.

Won't really affect me as I'm with shitty Virgin Media in Stoke on Trent and get around 800 bytes per second anyway But that really is shocking. I hate how they think they can combat piracy just by limiting people's bandwidth.... That just doesn't work...

    capital punishment at its finest.

if i can have a say here, i think you guys in the UK (and honestly, around the world too) need to vote people into congress who have a grip on the age of the internet. a few bad eggs is never enough to warrant capital punishment, and certainly not one this harsh. unfortunately i don't think it is only the fact that ignorant people are in your congress - i think largely the fact that any sort of investigation on piracy and internet use costs money; and it may be too much money to shell out for something most people outside of the computer business to care.
