Germany and France - once enemies. Now allies in being targets of stupid, crazy humans?
Stay tuned for the future... (aka stay calm).

Exciting times to live in, isn't it? I'm getting my popcorn out for the next 2-7 years.
There have been rumors, that Scotland might consider to join the Rep. of Ireland, which would ease the process of getting back into the EU, when (or if) UK leaves officially. With N.IR inbetween, it would then make sense for them to do the same. I guess it's one of the various possibilites for the Scottish to stay in the EU.
But honestly, I'd rather love to see a reform of the EU structure, with more emphasis on the EU parliament (which is actually elected) and less on the commission. It has been a good motor for human rights and environment issues. Also it is actually intellectually capable to oppose legislation or deals, e.g. free trade agreements (CETA, TTIP, TISA), that are not in the interest of the member states and their citizens.
Other than that: I've been to London a week ago. It's lovely to travel around in Europe freely and it would be a shame to exclude the UK out of it. But that's the least of the problems and can be resolved easily in the coming years.

I already stated in my post before, that it didn't solve the problem. Anyways, I guess I'll fiddle this around with patience.

Okay, I've determined the cause of the problem. BrightnessScaleHDR and AmbientScaleHDR both had a value of 0.5. After setting both back to 1, the problem's gone. To be more precise: BrightnessScaleHDR cannot be lower than 1.
Kinda suspected it.

As I've stated in the Edit, I tried to change the color, but it doesn't affect it at all.
Ambient is a purple-gray (196 185 208 200 [Blocked Image: http://abload.de/img/purple0osx6.jpg], very slightly), nothing extreme blueish. I removed all entities but the shadow_control, light_env and it still happens. I changed the shadow color for the shadow_control to 196 196 196 (grey, duh!) and still no change. This screenshot is compiled with HDR only but shows the effect pretty well. And yes, I compile with -StaticPropLighting

I don't even have a light_directional, only have light_environment, sunlight_shadow_control and shadow_control and have the same problem as MaanMan (blue tinted dynamic shadows with fade to black borders).
Edit: I tried RZL's suggestion, light_env replacement didn't work. Compiling LDR/HDR seperately showed, that it's definitely on the HDR part. I tried to find out whether it might be affected by the shadow color specified in the shadow_control entity but it produces the same results.

Congrats to all the mapc0rians getting into the operation. Eager to play some of those maps in competitive matchmaking after that exam tmrw. 'o_x
I also like the level of detail in newk, very nice. And I've spotted deliveries/containers with the train logo. Russia and USA working together, huh?

Next vaporware confirmed?
Looks sick!

Looking good, hope to pick this up sometime this year (preferably after exams).

Congrats on the release and the great response in the Twitch community.

I swear to god the year is not complete if I have not done a Japanese themed map in some form or another
I'd reconsider the lighting angle of the sun. The only thing you can see right now is shadows. Or, if you've taken the values from Valve according to the skybox: rotate the map.

Finally got my new apartment in the Cologne/Bonn area. Now for studies, studies and more studies.
Additionally, I will try to use my further free time to work on my game dev skills.

Has anybody picked this up since then?
I've started playing the day before yesterday or so to get into the story for EP5 on Oct 20th.
I managed to break the game twice, but other than that I cannot really point a negative point from my playing experience. If you're feeling 'this game is meh' after the first episode, please give this a chance and check out the second at least, as the pace is getting faster. Just think of cliché plotting out differently than you thought it will. Or one of those book series where you stumbled with the first book and got hooked afterwards. And choices actually do matter throughout the episodes, although you are clearly following a relatively linear storyline. Warm recommendation!

better than sex. confirmed.

The Martian - definitely enjoyable in a lot of ways. Interstellar had more wowzers, but it's definitely one of the best movies of '15 and of our 10s.

I'd rather enjoy learning (by unlocking) the language step by step, so you understand more, the more you've explored and discovered of the game. There was one game in the Final Fantasy series that did this correctly, don't remember which, but it was fun. Then again, if you're part of a tribe, you probably already know the language of yours (not necessarily of everyone around you).
This is definitely looking more interesting than dinosaur survival to me, although I'll probably never be bothered to play either of those.

OH, I've followed the official twitter some time ago just to make sure. Will take some time until there's more info around than there is right now, I guess.
