Its sad that de_neutron didnt make it.
cs_cruise doesnt look finished! not ready for an operation.

    Agree there!

I guess cs_cruise was just added to have a hostage map. Usually Skybex' maps are very polished. But cs_cruise feels like less than 70% done to me. There are plenty of issues and the map looks pretty empty in general.

    Still a promising operation.

Congrats to all the mapc0rians getting into the operation. Eager to play some of those maps in competitive matchmaking after that exam tmrw. 'o_x

I also like the level of detail in newk, very nice. And I've spotted deliveries/containers with the train logo. Russia and USA working together, huh? :D

I just made a run in Nuke and I'm impressed. The map is really really nice now and the improvement they made in the gameplay are interesting.

Some containers say "Made in Australia". Is there more to come? :v

    amd hardware isn't supported apparently

It's specifically the shader setting. Don't go above medium and you should be fine.

I hope valve are currently hoovering up mappers to give all maps the nuke treatment. That + source2 at the same time would turn the 20millon accounts into 40m.

Dust2 looks like a css map now in comparison to the new stuff getting put out.

Yeah but some of us toasters dropped from 120+ fps on old nuke to 40-60 fps on newke, either way it's a really beautiful map.

I'm just really excited about all the new assets that map makers get to play around with. Some of the new models and textures on Nuke look pretty good.

that's where Source 2 should help. Right now source doesn't utilise multiple cores properly, if at all (I'm not sure what the support is). However, Source 2 will utilise all cores you throw at it so the days of Intel's superior "per core performance" gaming CPUs would be numbered and a lot of the cheaper multi-core AMD CPUs will handle games much better.

    I knew it

Now the question is: Remake like Nuke or new map like Overpass? I guess we'll see some time in the future.

    Edit: I'm calling Dust 2.

Congrats guys, and again thanks to the people for organising the contest!

And my heart goes out to de_bourg - thought for sure it would be in. Seems like the kind of map Valve would like, and a lot of peoples favourite from the contest :(

Nuke though. Looks so polished and so epic. Never thought it could look so good.

I hope new map like overpass
Or maybe one of the community maps to official map ( i rly like santorini )

Besides that, I think they'll first need to overview the changes in Nuke cause i feel like CT's are lost for the moment and every play ends up easy win for the T's
(my tactic for now: striaght on vent dive and sneaky peaky backstabbing, works 99% of the time)

while I feel for you valve need to keep pushing the visuals forward to keep as many people as possible interested as possible.

The old version of nuke was built off of a 10 year old VMF (it's literally the same one used for CSS if you look at the nodrawed brushwork) so it's going to run better on older hardware.

yeah, but that's not acceptable, I mean, forcing half of the player to lower their settings because they didn't make their update correctly is insane. I thought there was basic testing for that sort of production.

Nuke looks incredible. Can't wait to check out all the new custom stuff that comes with it :P

The Witness shipped with crashes only on AMD cards, among many other games (remember RAGE?), AMD writes shitty drivers. That's the fun of graphics programming!

For those who didn't notice already:

There is a file called "de_nuke_zoo.vmf" in the .../sdkcontent/maps folder which contains all (?) the new assets. :)
