Thanks for the great replys dudes, and Minos, can i borrow your copy?
Well, now that he's already in the industry I don't think he brought it along when he left Argentina.
You can try asking his uncle though.

apparently you need to play the batman games for a couple hours before they get good, but for me that's too much. i am starting to have short patience with video games so forcing myself to play a couple of hours just because it might get good is hard for me to do.
I wouldn't call it hours, I'd say an hour or less. And even prior to that I considered the game entertaining, it's just that it picked up pace efter that first hour. I'd recommend you give the game a brief second chance; if you don't take a liking it's just not your cup of tea probably.
Quote from Rick_Dmw3 is just such a giant parody of itself at this point that i don't know whether to laugh or yawn. the art is also fucking dicks, same textures IW used in 200-whenever, and the gameplay is just constant closset spawning enemies, hundreds of guys thrown at you.it makes me wonder if anyone ever played MW1 and realised what made it good. protip: it wasn't what you think it was.
in fact the parts that sucked in MW1 are the parts that seem to have been used and expanded in MW2 and MW3. i don't want to kill 500 guys, i don't want shitty lighting and noisy level design and texturing, i want a good experience and i don't mind if you make enemies 10 times harder if it means there's 10 times less of them.
i played the russian airplane map, and loved the turbulence and the floating in the air killing, but i was so desensitized to action that what should have been a fucking awesome mission was just another shooty bang bang spamfest. did anyone realise while playtesting that there's about 100 enemies on that fucking plane. where did they come from? why is that considered fun? fuck you infinity ward, fuck you sledgehammer, fuck you activision, fuck you video game consumers. this is pure horse shit.

You're right. It's actually pretty crazy how good MW1 was and how far they've strayed from that game... but you know, american xbox-kids need their fuckyeah story and their guns and their in-game brofists and their hordes of evil russians and their animated loading screens with lots of cool banter and equally cool callsigns (oh shit those guys are reaper 2-actual - fuck this is good game design).
To make MW3's popularity and praise less depressing, you can draw a parallel to all other mediums. It's usually the shitty movies, books and music that cash in (transformers, twilight, justin bieber/similar). To provide additional comfort that some things are still done right in gaming, there's always BF3 MP.
Your coffee-related expertise will always be appreciated for that title. -
It's a bit overwhelming I admit; they could've waited with some gadgets and they could've kept the levels linear for a bit longer in the beginning. Still, it didn't take long before I got into the game and started smashing people's faces with lots of combos and shit!

Thinking back on it, the feeling I got from Portal 2 was far greater than Batman. It was also better crafted all around. Yet while the humor was the best part of the game to me, I didn't want to play it after I got through all the achievements. I guess the story took over the gameplay experimenting a bit too much in SP.
So far I have got to agree and I don't believe Batman will make me change my mind after I have completed it. In fact, as I write this I'm listening to, and very much enjoying, the Portal2 soundtrack.
Also, like you, the humor is one of my fav parts of the game... still think about Wheatley/Cave-quotes and giggle.

Got to agree with dux.
Played this during the last free weekend and I didn't even make it to 3h. Avoid, avoid, avoid is my recommendation...

Anyone else enjoying Arkham City? Just got started and I'm loving it so far

Excellent timing Helder! Learning CryEngine is my next project and I suspect these will be of great use!

Out of curiosity, how much of the DVD's cover the engine/editor-know-how and how much is about asset creation/importing/similar? As an un-artisty peson, I'm mainly interested in the former.

I may have sent some monehs this way.

My life for the core!
*Edit: No badges please. They'll just use space for no real need and for it to make sense you need to set a minimum amount (more then 0,01€) and once you do that things are getting unnecessarily complex. Let people announce their support in the thread instead

Gabe and Valve continue to do the right things and think in the right way. Love em

I may or may not pirate TV-shows because of the current distribution BS (wait 1-2 years for Swedish release... MAYBE), but everything else I do pay for. I haven't pirated a game since I was perhaps 16-17, and then it was mostly for LAN's. I go to the cinema for movies and I pay for spotify for most of my music needs (the rest I buy digitally usually).
The reason I avoid piracy is not only "ethical", so to say. I actually like that a game purchase is a decision that needs to be thought about and that not ALL content is so easily available for free at all times; it dilutes things imho. And there's always a risk that the pirated version may disrupt or interfere with the intended experience/functionality of a game which I dislike a lot. And online play is usually good to have too.

When it comes to steam, I only buy games when there's a sale. I have Webhallen nearby, which sells games, and it's usually a lot cheaper.

Okay, so I reported an error on the origin-site a while back and got a free game voucher on origin.
Turns out, i was in the mood to shit my pants because I just chose dead space 2 as my free game... don't know how this is gonna go

This mod sounds unnecessarily big imho. If the team currently consists of you and a friend I'd say that you should work on something you can mainly do yourselves. My first attempt at both modmaking and single-player was Precursor, which was hard enough and that was only a few halflife2-levels. Ideas are very cheap but bringing them to life is expensive as hell. Also, please don't forget that games and mods need to have gameplay, which I see no mention of (except a small mention that you may want to include some form av hacking mechanic... from another game). You are not making a movie or a writing a book; you need more then story.

The kind of presentation found in your post is a very familiar sight in the modding world; big ideas and a long list of available roles. I don't want to be harsh here but the outlook for these kind of projects aren't usually too bright. So my recommendation is to create something small but solid together with your buddy. It won't be the most epic visceral cinematic immersive game ever made, but it'll probably actually get done. Making games/mods is hard work, so be careful with how much you plan to take on.
Good luck and all the best in your modding efforts!

Nvidia aren't the obvious choice some of you make them out to be IMHO. I buy ATI because the price/performance ratio is usually better. And I can't forgive Nvidia for the FX-series just yet...

Well, NFS Hot Pursuit used Frostbite 1 I believe, so it's pretty reasonable that they upgraded it for the next entry (Hot Pursuit was actually quite fun but The Run looks like a steaming turd).
I did try Medal of Honor's MP (beta), and while I can't compare it with the feel of SP, it was shit regardless

EDIT: Whoops, they didn't use Frostbite, they got support from DICE in handling the large scale of the environments tech-wise.
knj: wot? in the server browser?
