You've gotta' give them credits for using procedural textures on a next generation game.

For those of you who don't know, Child's Play, the charity delivering games, books, and toys to sick kids during the Christmas season, just got going. This is an amazing charity, and as such it also happens to be a tax benefit (in case you're on the fence). You can donate in multiple ways. The most common method on these forums is actually direct PayPal donations, but purchasing and delivering a gift from the individual hospital wish lists is strongly encouraged

Anyway, I was curious if we could setup some sort of MapCore community donation tracker, and perhaps hit a certain goal each week. I realize we aren't the richest bunch of folks out there, but any spare change you guys have will definitely help the cause. So, is anyone interested?

your chocolate is getting old? didn't it come out not even a year ago?anywho, my brother bought a new phone so i got his old razr. i never had a phone before that

Old as in the reception is getting shitty as hell. I've also over-used it, and I'm a spoiled little brat with lots of monies. But seriously, two of the keys don't work and there is this huge black dot in the middle from where I dropped it.

I really love the artistic direction with this game, especially the character models. They seem to combine realistic with cell-shaded which is totally kickass. Warby, when are you guys releasing?! Oh, will you guys have mod support and stuff, cause your engine is pretty awesome.

Just curious what type of cell phones you all have? I've got a LG Chocolate, but it's getting pretty old so I'm thinking about getting the new Krzr from Motorola.

I can't personally vouche for them, but a friend uses em and hasnt had any complaints.

EDIT: Just remembered Media Temple - http://www.mediatemple.net. They have 'rollover bandwidth' which is pretty kickass. They host Sony, ABC, Starbucks, etc so you know they are reliable.

If you take offense by this mike, then I apologize, but it’s just an observation I've noticed with games as of late. But my case with UE3 and Crysis still stands. Brothers In Arms, while trying to be very realistic, still retains an artistic look and feel to it, but Crysis, unlike its predecessor Far Cry, just seems to completely based around generating a simulation of real life in all aspects.

And just FYI, the texture aspect is only one view on the matter. I could ramble on about other aspects of game development as well, but I just chose textures as its a field I specialize in.
