Pretty sure it's 360 only, but I wouldn't rule out a PC port at some point in the future.

FLETCH:

Yes, the music does not seem like what the typical gamer would expect to hear. Most gamers probably don't remember the original Tears for Fears song, and probably not the Donnie Darko soundtrack cover of the song (which is better than the original anyway)
However, when targeting the non-hardcore nitpickers of the world (which GoW will need to appeal to get anywhere close to Halo sales numbers which it won't anyway but that's another topic...) Microsoft and its ad agency needed something risky that went against conventional gamer ad wisdom.
So they chose the Mad World cover. The lyrics clearly match the emotional intent of the visuals: lone guy running, fighting on in what seems to be the end of the world against impossible odds. The intent is to create an emotional hook which to some degree actually works. I personally like the song and it made me go to iTunes to look for it. My fiance instantly found it interesting and said "are you getting that game? maybe you should get that?"
Trust me, we may think the ad is laughable, which it is, but it's going to work. A year from now GoW will have sold at least 1.8 million units on 360 in the US alone.
Think about your level of anger after watching that ad vs watching a PS3 ad where a rubiks cube explodes. That ad pissed me off.

It got 9.6 on gamespot

-
10/10 from 1up, and every review so far has been highly praising. Not sure if I'm gonna picked it up at launch though - bit skint this month after upgrading my PC

-
just pre ordered it in a gamestore nextdoor

Mike and I played Co-op which is fun. Played MP last night and holy crap what a lot of fun. Never really played XBL games before but I am really enjoying it so far.
-
From the bits I've played so far, Gears is like a Blizzard game. I wouldn't call it innovative or even all that ground-breaking, but it's so fun, beautiful, polished, and focused that it sets the bar for whatever will follow it.
I'm also specifically impressed with the level design. It's simple but clearly very deliberate and they get great mileage out of every element of it.
Haven't played MP yet but hope to dive in. Also, SP on hardcore is pretty brutal. I fear for that third skill level

Coming from you that's a good sign. By comparison, as cool as FEAR is, the level design kind of bores me so I'm sorta meh on the game in general.
Might be trading in GRAW for GoW this weekend

It's really hard to believe all the good scores. I have such a hard time thinking it could actually deserve it. But if it turns out it does it's probably the best game for years.

Hehe, me and a bunch of guys at work have planned an evening/night where we'll just play the hell outta it when its released (EMERGENCE DAY D:). Maybe even hooked up 2 TVs and 2 360s and play Co-op that way (Splitscreen is for suckers!).
Haven't been especially interested in it before, but with the recent amazing reviews and just looking at it I'm totally stoked to get it on.
But I guess I'll have to do with Call of Duty 3 until GoW is out on Thursday/Friday next week here :G

Yea it looks great art wise, but the gameplay looks kinda dull. I read the Gamespot review and nothing really struck me that could justify such an outstanding score except for nice graphics and very good sound. Then again, PC and xbox 360 ratings/reviews are two pairs of different shoes (compare the best rated games on both platforms yourself).
I am eager to play it though to find out what it's all about

You guys suck. The music, even though it doesnt go along with the video, is great. It's Gary Jules - Mad World.
-
The game is amazing.
The CO-Op is most fun, and the game is like watching/playing a CGI movie because of how well their cinematography has been done and of course the visuals.
