I made this over the weekend for this year's global game jam.

The idea of the game was that you could only see these "sound waves" and you have to navigate a cave and try to find all the crystals.

Can't possibly to just name one game so here's my highlights of the year in no particular order.

    I don't need to repeat

I liked this more than the second and the second one was also freaking amazing. So on the scale of that, you get the idea.

Success in this game was always made with a sacrifice and left you bittersweet in the end. Whatever you do on this game just feels like a gamble and you truly feel the tension. People have said they hated to constantly play against a timer but I think it's well balanced and a good way to provide tension, although forced but the feeling it just makes you press on.

Just finished this a week ago. It truly felt like a modern imagination of thief. It gave total freedom to do your missions the way you wanted and gave a lot of tools to do them. I think everyones experience of this game is almost unique just because of how it's constructed. Truly a masterpiece.

Although the game is almost 2 years old by now. the DLC really brought the game alive again. Being able to explore and land on moons in which are represented in the correct scale is just absolutely amazing and always makes me feel like coming back for more.

I'm really glad what Blizzard did for the season 3 ranks. I thought I've never going to be able to climb to diamond after just constantly getting pulled down to gold from platinum for whatever reason.

I think mostly just because of waves after waves of new players starting from the gold-platinum rank. Knowing nothing of the maps, mechanics and synergies and thus getting frustrated and throwing games, trolling with shitty picks and refusing to communicate.

I'm glad I've finally gotten over those and getting some really awesome matches when everyone is pulling their own weight.

We are now playing the games we could only dream of when we were kids. I remember dreaming of playing games that would allow me to go almost anywhere and do superhero stuff or spells, mess around and have consequences of my actions... You know, a modern open world rpg.

What a day to be alive.

I've only played to the start of the first mission and I already love it.

The game never tries to cram the story and action down your throat like you have a mental disability... and you actually have the option to just take your time and breath it all in. Everything I've seen so far takes this into account and the levels are just full of stuff to explore and experience. ie. some odd little house at the corner no one would event bother to look at, and in there you find some little nugget of loot, some voice recorder with a little story of the owner. Sometimes it just makes all the difference.

Finally got around to getting Wolfenstein®: The Old Blood™

Holy hell it was awesome. I was surprised of the quality of the whole thing. I keep my expectations low for expansions because of the usual trend of quantity over quality. This was totally worth it.

  • What's your favourit game ending / final boss ever?

    Good Topic!

For the life of me, I can't remember most of the endings I've played anymore. But the ending of Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons really invoked some strong feelings that I will remember till the day I die. Says a lot for a game that you could beat in one session.

Also the boss fight of Dark Souls 1 left me some good memories. I really felt I've accomplished something rather than ticked a box of seeing the end credits roll.

Time will tell how Sombra will fare in the game. I don't really endorse the design of having Invisibility in a fast paced shooter. Invisibility just lowers the fun factor.

I really like the steam controller! I haven't really found a game I couldn't play with it. You just get so much control for the thing right out of the box, no juggling around with third party programs and different control profiles or anything it's all automatic! and it's so much fun to just customize the controls I find myself constantly tweaking something. It's not perfect though, I kinda found the layout of the controller somewhat weird at first and using the track pads takes a long while to get used to properly.

I wish more games from the recent years would have supported simultaneous inputs from different controllers. It's frustrating to discover that games usually either disable kb+mouse in favor of controller or outright freeze all inputs while using inputs from both control methods for several seconds. Steam controller's best efforts to emulate the mouse movement for controller only games doesn't really cut it. I just want games to support using the analog stick + mouse more.

Anyway, best piece of gaming hardware I've bought a while.

yeah, well the start is pretty shitty. but I can easily forget the crappy first 20 mins of the main quest when the rest of my 100hrs of free running in the wastelands is enjoyable. tbh the whole main quest is the shittiest part of the game. It was the same with Skyrim and Fallout 3. Even though the criticism is well put about this game being shallow and all I still think it's the highlight of the last year.

It has one of the best world and most satisfying gameplay loop I know of any game ever made.

@Sprony I recommend addition with the unofficial patch using vivid weathers, interiors enhanced, dynamic interior fog removal, improved map

those are the only mods that I've been using, haven't seen anything else that's worthwhile.

I would say Natural selection 2, the editor is just so damn fun to play with and it has a small but really enthusiastic mapping community.

I started hitting the gym about 3 months ago and it probably was the best decision of my life. After a lifetime of doing nothing and sitting on my ass. I had the most weirdest pains in my neck area and back and feeling of dizzyness/light-headedness for the whole last year every few weeks, mostly because of my neglect of being at least fit enough to support my own body.

Well all of that is gone now and hopefully for good!

From just barely able to lift the olympic bar, I've been steadily going up to bench pressing 60kg, deadlifting 60, squatting 55.. I was eating pain meds for the first month of my workout because my lower back was so weak it just gave up, but taking it steady and slow it got stronger and I could start add more weight without getting hurt anymore. I probably couldn't have done it without the help of my friends who have been doing this stuff for years and gave proper help with the techniques and routines.

Been playing ranked now for awhile and I gotta say I'm surprised how enjoyable it's been just playing solo with random internet people. Considering the massive, massive player base I haven't run into griefers or quitters that often. Just few games here and there.

The competitive mode has been far more enjoyable experience over all than in other games. I just wish people would communicate over VOIP more often.
